Bump cause they need to fix it.

You only need 5 pieces for each class from crystal tower for most that will be 5 weeks to get everything, with coil it could take months to get 1 or 2 pieces with the obscure drop rates for bards etc.

the only thing I can think of is they are doing that for 2.2 o future patches for +1 or +2 upgrades that will beat the current highest endgame gear.

You'll start lotting on gear near week's end, when it's a matter of get it or lose your lot right for that week. At the beginning of the week, people are going to be picky about their one loot item. They can keep going back to get Tomes and wait for a piece of gear they will settle on for the week. As it goes on, the pressure increases.
Sure, everyone who knee-jerks and hates the lockout system will gripe. But the alternative is abysmal drop rates that only benefit the hardest of the hardcore, and SE's already made the concious choice NOT to cater to the Hardcore above the Casual audience. I've pointed this out for over a year now.
If this were done the other way, we'd be complaining about the drop-rates right now, snickering jokes about the Grade Five Dark matter that's dropping out of chests.
I certainly wanted both the headpiece and gloves i saw wasted, but I couldn't take them and they went into the void. It's completely bull crap if no one wants them and I do I should be allowed to take it....What a waste, once I'm done I won't run it even to help because it pisses me off to watch stuff i want and need go to waste.

But it's the opposite now. You grind iLvl 70 and begin coil. Why bother with CT and a one week lockout? Granted it should be done, as an extra upgrade is nice, but you can easily overgear CT in two-three weeks with coil and myth. A one week lockout on gear that isn't required to progress to ilvl 90 doesn't make sense.
You should have bought an authenticator.....
Your tears feed me....
Hence we're back to all of the complaints that the 'elitists' had when they complained it was i80 at all.But it's the opposite now. You grind iLvl 70 and begin coil. i80 is not required for you, but there are some who might be struggling in coil and could find use for i80 gear. Or in my case, i80 gear will be useful for my dragoon. Also, 99.9% of players will not be able to do twintania in just i70, and even then I think most players will need full i90 to do twin. Full i90 isn't an overnight achievement, and i80 gear will be great to supplement in the meantime. Heck I happily took a crown of light yesterday in CT even though im average ilvl 87 on my PLD.
My dad is a WHM who has seen almost nothing drop in coil, he still has a bunch of i70 he could drop some CT gear in the meantime while he waits for allagan or myth gear. Once his WHM is decked out he can start farming for his BLM. Seriously, plenty of uses for CT gear for us.
If it was unlocked loot, then we would feel compelled to run it continuously until we had no more i70 left - otherwise we're holding back our team on twin and progressing the new primals. I, for one, am glad I don't have to do that.
