Found this gem 2 pages back, good postIn summary: "We can't afford to pay for the hardware to run the player housing because we're one of the largest digital entertainment, amusement, publication and merchandising conglomerates in Japan and are completely incapable of the sort of foresight you'd expect from a five-year-old, so enjoy another ill-conceived content gating mechanism we Rube Goldberg'd together on a napkin at a sake bar."
Just want you to know that the investors are watching. Seen your stock prices today? 'Cause I'm looking at a 2.59% loss.
Mindlessly grinding gil out of the game to afford this is in no way the best way to get FC members to work together.... As someone already said if you wanted to make it expensive farming mats or something would have been better, but yeah that would encourage bots... but atleast FCs would have meaningufl ways of getting it...
You forget duty roulette works only when solo... so yeah, farming duty roulette means playing solo instead of having fun with your friends. And this just makes players want to strip other players of their gil, just so they can afford the content, atleast there's a good income of materials and is far more fun to gather, especially if you're farming ina group. Just imagine, bunch of friends running together in the forest hacking at those trees, grindy? yes! boring and lame as farming gil? No!
Although of course, that would mean everyone would be out there trying to farm materials, but if you even it out of what you need, from low lvl to high lvl materials, then you would have people farming everywhere. Plus it makes much more sense that we farm the mats to build up our own house, rather than just try to get the insane amounts of gil required to buy the plot, and then get a relatively free construction. Just boring.
Anyway... this should be addressed rather sooner than later. Very frustrating and just a plain bad move on SE side. Very sad.
How are the japanese forums looking like?
I hope a similar thread is going on there...
So, there is a post in this thread from Camate quoting Yoshi, in which he says that they took into account all the RMT Gil left in the world. Then later in Yoshis full wall of text post, he states that he skimmed 10% off the top to account for RMT Gil left in circulation. Which one is it?

All the RMT money they know about and around 10% for the RMT money they would not know about. So, there is a post in this thread from Camate quoting Yoshi, in which he says that they took into account all the RMT Gil left in the world. I'd be careful about putting everyone from the cheap servers under the same umbrella, because some of us find this equally ridiculous as you guys and are defending the same thing you stand for.Another one from the cheapest servers that comes to run his mouth. How convenient.
Here's another nasty effect of the silly price disparity. It creates a divide between the community, as those from the cheapest servers can't relate with those in the costly servers, and come here to mock them because they aren't really touched as much by the problem.
Besides, the douchebags aren't limited to just our servers.
The content was advertized to be available to everyone on the 17th of December 2013, and not 3 months down the road. We should be able to purchase a plot of land right now.
Another one who thinks it's acceptable to tell others what they need or don't need.
Why don't you just get the hell out of this thread and go play the game if you don't want a house, because we DO want a house, and we're gonna keep posting on the forums until SE gets it through their thick skull that we do not agree with their nonsense.

Houses should be special. Your FCs can all afford small ones. If you want a mansion, it's a mansion. Not everyone gets mansions.
If SE shoulda did anything, they shoulda rolled back all the people who did the gil exploit on Atomos and ruined it for the rest of us who actually earned some gil. Too late now.
You can buy a house, the feature is there as advertised, some people just don't have the money to (I don't either, so what? I'll have it eventually). Go work on it now because it's very likely SE sees it as long term goal for players, especially the large houses, so don't expect many changes to the pricing of those.

That said, I understand it's easier to whine on the forum and hope SE lowers prices.

I'm sure someone else caught this too, but with 105 pages I've kind of skipped ahead...
If the devs are worried about the rich buying all the plots, why not just restrict land to one per FC? I don't see why this should even be an issue.
