    Equipment degradation

    So I've noticed since 2.1 that I now suffer much quicker equipment degradation. before 2.1 I could run 6-7 DGs before repairing (Tank) and now I get through 2-3 before the repair hits.

    I never saw this in the patch notes (if it was there I apologize for wasting time). but It seems to me that for everything SE does to make it seem like they're giving us bonuses like commendation gil and roulette, they counter-act it with something like this. it's not like it's a major thing, and I don't even care about making gil running DGs.... it's the fact that I'm now perpetually bound to a repair vendor while running DGs that is getting to me.

    Thank you !! finally someone noticing that too.

    Before the patch you could fight mobs while running around the world and then head into a dungeon, complete that and come out to have quick repairs even though your equipment was still around 90% or so.

    Now? Now after a small fate which you hardly take any damage in, my armor shows degradation as if i was in an AK or WP run and your party had died a few times.

    As you mentioned even though it's not a big deal, something has certainly changed in regards to equipment degradation.

    Isn't equipment damage based on experience gained? If so, it might be because you get more experience from dungeons now.

    Dunno why they would raise the XP gained in a lvl 50 DG, unless it is tied to durability (I have no idea how it's calculated so perhaps this is the case). But I definitely know that pre 2.1 I was not repairing 4-5 times a day no matter how much I died.

    I ran Turn 1 coil and half of PS and I ended up at 30% left on my gear. It does seem to degrade faster. But this is just speculation.

    As mentioned it isn't really a big thing, it's just something i noticed but it's certainly not speculation.

    I always watched my gear since i was curious of how it degraded.

    Before the patch i recall doing Garuda HM and clearing it without any deaths, wipes and come out with 0 yes zero damage.

    Now i think even if you don't take any damage, your equipment will still take damage as if you wiped once or twice.

    i can certainly guarantee you that the equipment degradation has certainly changed since the patch.

    As for someone that mentioned getting xp from dungeons, i am talking about lvl50 dungeons where xp is irrelevant, your equipment still takes more damage than before the patch.

    Trolled the patch notes again to be safe and can't find anything about durability changes. the only change is in relation to DG xp increases as discussed. While this may be the case (if it ties into durability) it still doesn't explain why this increase has been implemented, as it currently only serves to sink gil (which seems to be the running joke with SE) and annoy players like me that find ourselves now constantly searching out repair vendors between runs.

    I checked those patch notes yesterday, i didn't spot anything with regards to equipment degradation.

    I think some of the changes they have done has somehow affected that.

    Oh so it's really a thing? In PS, by the time we reached last boss one of our dPS was at 0%, so completely useless. I thought uh well maybe he didn't repair before getting in? But checked my equip and was almost completey destroyed too...I understand we wiped a lot but really full degradation just with a single dungeon???
    Apart from the risk to be unable to finish, that way, repair fees levtate lot too ./ So much for this patch making people have more money..

    On a possibly related note: The cost of dark matter from Grand Companies was significantly reduced.

    From the patch notes:

    Grade 1 Dark Matter (5) 70 → 60
    Grade 2 Dark matter (5) 430 → 170
    Grade 3 Dark Matter (5) 1,010 → 350
    Grade 4 Dark Matter (5) 2,160 → 690
    Grade 5 Dark Matter (5) 5,030 → 1,150
