Botter on wutai, with the same exact bot, at the same exact place as yours is.
If you do kill them, they immediately teleport and run straight back and continue botting coblyns and maidenbugs there because of the fast spawn rate.

Bardi doesn't have to agro them. They'll indescriminately attack bardi if you present it to them.

Mr Carbuncle Corrderio they can do what ever they please its written in the agreement u click when u install the game. Ive reported 100's of taru thm/con rmts and not have i ever seen a single one of them get banned/jailed in months SE really doesnt give a rats ass.... Ive found these roaming bots in nanwa mines and out in the fields in horizon also and reported them and days later they where still there SE doesnt give a rats ass they must want there game to fail at this point because there isnt anyother sensible reasoning behind the entire cluster fark of a situation.

My intention was to address you and not the topic. You have and continue to try to derail this thread by insulting people rather than disputing their claims. If your "White Knight" label is meant to offend, simply put, it does not. If anything it is a compliment...thanks . I can stand just as far to the left as you can to the right, that is the easy part. The problem is that nothing gets done. The real debate in this topic is should SE take any action against bots or should they focus more on making the game worthwhile? Is ignoring the possible botting issues in the game a good or bad thing at this point and when if ever should they address the issue? Adding your personal slant on the people who are posting does nothing but sate your own personal need to belittle someone, in short, it serves no purpose in resolving the issue.

As far as my own personal views, I am against botting and RMT. However, if SE decided it was acceptable to do either of these in game then I would have to make a judgement call on weather I would want to be involved in a game like that. I am no saint but I think if you say that you don't want something done in a game you are running that you should address the problem when it arises. Waiting until it gets to epidemic levels before acting will just send us right back to the first 5 years of FFXI where the AH was totally out of hand and the game had lost a ridiculous amount of players. That is my view as a player.

From a business standpoint, it does not benefit them to allow this behavior because when they finally start charging for this game those that have already leveled everything out and exploited the game through third party programs will simply log off until there is more content or they have run out of gil to sell. That cycle will repeat itself continuously cutting into the profits of the company overall. It will also undermine any confidence legitimate players have in the company to run an equal environment for players if it is not addressed. Some people still log into or play video games for fun...true story. If those players can't enjoy themselves or be on a level playing field with other players their interest in a game dwindles and their comments on their experience in that game causes others to avoid it. It is simply a matter of how SE wants this game perceived and what kind of customer they want to attract.

The video of the OP was not necessarily damning evidence. However, it does look pretty suspicious and should be looked into. If the STF can get a bead on these people fast enough they can keep pace with the problem rather than working from behind.

IDK if it's a bot, personally I don't care unless it is directly affecting in a massive way, my playtime. However, again regarding claim, since Bardi became "Engaged" you no longer have the ability to claim ANY other monster. From the moment the bug went yellow your party never attacked it. Your party only attacked it after claiming Bardi.

Sorry DarkRain, while I can support your view that bots need to die, I can't support the claim theory. It's flawed in how you presented it and with video proof that you did nothing to the bug until "after" your party claimed Bardi, its a moot point

Ok thats my bad then. And ill give you that. Im still in the mind set that if you attack a mob no matter if you have one attacked or not that its still your claim. So ill give that up. But still point is that if you whent and attacked a mob and lowered your weapon and looked at it , it would hit you as it unclaims it would still attack you until you die , kill it , or run away from it. So sorry but yeah still in the mind set that if you attack a mob reguardless if you have another engaged it should still be linked to you. But im wrong on that. But still this bot is bad news.

I agree that i don't like the mechanic either. But that is indeed the way the game is set up. If i came down a little hard it is because i assumed you knew the way it works, 1 claim at a time(it sucks) but that is how it goes.

Yes, but at the same time GMs still need to follow the guidelines they were given. They can't just jail you because they "assume" you're cheating without something to back it up. After all that's why Jcblue got his ass fired within a week of being a GM on XI.

at first i had no clue what the video/bot was doing, but as soon as he claimed the target you already claimed..well thats just crazy.

I don't think this kind of issue is called as "bot" it is more like kind of "trainer" or "cheat engine"

i have seen the bot claim mobs that were already claimed.

edit: i just finished reading the rest of the posts and realized it was already mentioned that in fact bardi was claimed before they tried to engage the maidenbug. i removed the rest of my post due to it was already stated.
