[Removed by Moderator according to the FINAL FANTASY XIV FORUM Guidelines.]The amount of both sympathizing on the board has reached comic level.
Do you not see the bot clearly walking up to any new target--PC, NPC--anything--trying to attack it? They basically play tennis with it, because it keeps testing if each of them is a coblyn.
It's not that the bot claimed a maidenbug. It's that the bot doesn't care that it's almost dead and won't be getting any sp for it.
They clearly demonstrated a character who automatically walks up to any targetable thing in its area and tries to attack it.
If a GM actually looked at that character's chat logs it would say.
You cannot attack that target.
You cannot attack that target.
You cannot attack that target.
You cannot attack that target.
You cannot attack that target.
You cannot attack that target.
You cannot attack that target.
You cannot attack that target.
You cannot attack that target.
The Maidenbug is engaged.
There's one of these in mun tuy, parked in the squirrel room that doesn't have agro spawn in it. Rank 50 lancer. Just straight farms shards, nonstop. Behaves EXACTLY like this, you can go play tennis with it too.
This bot systematically targets, locks on, runs to, and attempts to attack any new targetable character within its field of vision, which is why you can play tennis with them.
I can tell this is a bot. I can even tell which bot they're using.
What, you all can't?
Or you all won't?
The point is..
wait for it...
here it comes........
No one cares. No one can 100% prove it. The STF are there for this.

1) Obviously your statement that "No one cares." is false. People do care. If they did not they would not take the time to report these things. Some get over zealous sure, but they do care nonetheless. Should people post these things as more of a question...sure. Should they ignore something like RMT when they see it and depend on the STF to have an all-seeing all-knowing eye to monitor the game...nope.
2) Posting remarks to prove your point by debasing or insulting people is one of the most commonly overused tactics in any argument/debate where you as the aggressor can not prove or validate your point effectively. If you have said what you want to say on the matter and people are not listening then you have not accomplished the task of communicating your idea effectively or that person is stubborn. I can understand throwing a snide remark or two in to get some attention to what you are saying but being abusive to people simply to enrage them only makes you look smug and arrogant. This will just make proving your point even more difficult. Sifting through nonsense like this is what makes getting to a solution that much more difficult. My point? Address the topic...leave the people alone. If you can't do that then you should stay quiet an LISTEN until you find another point you can debate and chime in then. Calling people names does not prove or disprove your point. Say what needs to be said and move on.

Thank you for your input, that in no way relates to the subject matter of the OP. I will be sure to call on you when we need a lesson in basic human interaction though.A few things that you might want to realize before you post more inflamatory remarks:

White Knights all over this forum, it's like an outbreak O_O!
I am starting to hear trumpet fanfares with every new post in this thread lol.
If this bot can claim mobs someone else has claimed, or can even claim a mob without hitting it, thats a serious problem for nms later, the fact that people don't care about the future consequences of botting scares me
Player
They actually think we don't know what they are and do. This is the internet. How can we, after all.
Lead them all into the skeleton rooms, I say. What are they going to do? Whine to a GM that we hypnotized them and made them follow a string of mobs to their death?
Lol...they're getting too bold for their britches if you ask me.
I mean why be so SERIOUS about me leading a bot to its death if it's not going to be theirs?
Well naturally it's because it is theirs. Six players continuously show up to these topics and WHITE KNIGHT cheaters.
My guess is all six cheat or reserve the right to.
I'm going to start leading them to their deaths if the STF continues to suffer those players. What are they going to do about it?
Nothing. Reload their bot and walk it back out to the field so I can kill it again. I guess they could whine to the bot developers to make bots that we can't make fun of and kill. Or they could do us all a favor and whine to Square that they're botters.
This isn't a witch hunt. This is pest control.

In lieu of the lack of actual content, MPKing bots is actually one of my new hobbies, lmao.
I found one bot in a cave, killing skeletons as they respawned, so the moment a new skelly popped, I claimed it and waited for 10 minutes for the next skeleton to pop. In the meantime, the bot kept trying to attack the first skelly that was already claimed by me, while the newly popped skeleton attacked the bot. It took a while, since the bot was rather high level compared to the skeletons (but not high enough to prevent aggro), but eventually it died.
