This I can agree with. The ideal method would have been player housing first. People are looking at FC housing as personal housing. They can't tell the difference. I'm seeing people suggest 10mil for an L area for FC housing... really? I can afford that easily by myself, and I'm not on a legacy server. It's technically better to just satisfy their wants before they get the delusions that they clearly have now.

Realistically though, I really doubt servers would be able to handle the strain with so many instances running simultaneously at this point in time. They couldn't even properly handle the high degree of log-ins.

My FC has four members, I'm the farthest into "endgame" at Titan HM, and coming from FFXI being one fight away from a "relic weapon" still feels ridiculous to me. I never even attempted a relic weapon in XI.

I'd love to spend MONTHS on my FCs house but I want to spend those months playing the content!
Crafting furniture, gathering and farming materials, redecorating the garden, being happy about every little new and cool furniture we can afford.
What's wrong with that?
Why don't we deserve to enjoy this just because we're four casual players?
Being casual players we'd probably enjoy this more than those grinding "pros". Hell, I dress my char in comfortable clothes before I log out in my inn room. Just because.

No matter how low you set the bar, it will only mean the lots will be sold out faster. If you dropped it down to 'free', it would change from favoring the FCs with more gil, to favoring the FCs with leaders/members that happened to be able to log in when the servers first go up.

That bit about new FCs just starting out having to work harder than new FCs just starting out on another server is irrelevant; all the lots would be bought up well before the FCs on servers with lower tier prices met the cost of the smallest lot. By slowing it down, it allows FCs that are near the current goal post to still have something to work towards(even if another FC started off with more gil after 2.1 went live, if they're less productive/active, they could still be outstripped by a more active/productive FC that started with less), while slowing down the buying rate so they have more time to gauge the demand and add more servers to accomodate without wasting $ on extra servers by accidentally overshooting the actual demand.

The chance for truly 'equal' shots at getting fc housing first across the board was gone the moment the game launched without FC housing on day 1.

If the initial price of land was easily within the means of wealthy players, one can envision all available plots of land being snatched up immediately, leaving other players—even those possessing the necessary gil—unable to purchase land for an extended period of time.

Did it ever occur to you, even once, just a single moment, that... Perhaps you could just make it so that you can only own one plot of land at a time???

Because pricing shit like this has done exactly what you supposedly wanted to prevent: it's left players "unable to purchase land for an extended period of time." I don't understand why you substituted one option for... the same.

Why has it not been decided that the data centers should be upgraded to handle the game and all of its features in full?
Why does this continue to be such a limiting factor, and how long is this going to keep cropping up?

I agree. It's like they're working on 70 year old toasters. The restrictions they've "had" to implement to accommodate their "servers" are ridiculous.

There's no reason to buy a small or medium if you think you might ever want a large, because there's no reimbursement or ability to upgrade, and several neat furnitures are place-one-time-only. My company is an eclectic blend of hardcores and casuals, some who can be found almost every day, some who are only around a couple times a week, and many whose playtime varies wildly as their lives change. What we have in common is that we would much rather be playing the game than painstakingly grinding gil in an incredibly tedious fashion so that we can enjoy something fun and pretty three, four months down the road. It no longer feels like an 'attainable goal' - it feels like a tooth-pulling grind that I'm not willing to subject my colorful and fantastic FC members to solely for the sake of vanity, or even potential small benefit.

Making individual amenities expensive? Great! We can focus our efforts. Making individual bits of cool or useful furniture particularly difficult to assemble? Fine! Same thing. But making the entry cost the staggering, crushing mass that it is? Yeah, our spirits are dead.

They already did that. You also lose all your spent gil if you give land up, so people can't buy and resell for profit.

The excuse is just a cover for the lack of server capacity. Rather than delaying release until they could let every FC get some kind of house, they met the date and just made it impossible for most people to use.

Lol I love the logic Yoshi used. "Because some rich people might be able to exploit the system, we decided to make it so NO ONE can use it." Ya that sounds like a great idea. Because the tope 5 players might be able to purchase multiple plots and sell them for a profit, well just make it so those top 5 can only afford 1. And everyone else can afford 0. Guess what? When prices fall, your still gonna have the same problem once they hit bottom.
Too bad the entire dev team couldn't come up with a better solution. Like, making deeds untradeable. Which would have fixed all the problems Yoshi told us about.
The prices are an artificial lockout because your housing servers aren't ready SE. Please stop feeding the community BS and be honest.

So what your saying is my Free Company on a legacy server will NEVER get a house cause there are 10 people on my server with 100mil? So thanks for this information since we started the FC we have only managed to pool 2mil! with cost of a large plot being 315mil (or a small plot at 31.5mil that look no good) it will go down but its still going to take us years to get them cause you made it so FC can have more then one plot for some weird reason. I hope you think about changing this sooner then later cause my FC would really like to hope we can get one!

This is no longer Final Fantasy have fun going with friends killing mobs! Its Final Fantasy fish or go homeless forever! But wait with all this fishing will crash the market so no one will make any money so nvm!
