There's no reason they shouldn't be allowed to do it NOW!
Or don't you know there's a 1M cap on gil you can transfer, which is chump change to many on V2 servers by now.
Gil is just one asset that you transfer with. I can still go and buy a ton of quick selling expensive items until I am below the cap (like Tier IV materia) and then perform a steaming dump on the market boards with them on the new world.
LOL, you never studied economics, did you?
I can bring an infinite number of high priced items but that doesn't create ONE SINGLE GIL! They're high priced where they come from not where they're transferred to, they're high value on the server with a lot of gil, their value plummets on a server with nothing like as much.
*I* may end up a BIT richer but nett total gil on the server HAS NOT CHANGED! The idea that a V1 player transferring will disrupt a V2 server is economic illiteracy, and an AH 'dump' would collapse the market, not make me even richer.
Please stop talking economics, you're clearly ignorant about it.

If it makes you feel better then yep, I haven't studied economics... but as I understood it, top end materia and hq crafted goods were much cheaper on legacy worlds than new ones, due to the larger supply pool coming over from 1.0. I might take a peek again, but certainly seemed to be that way last time I looked.
All my original post said was that I believe SE are trying to use the housing pricing differences to bring the amounts of gil in each economy closer together, as a pre-cursor to opening up world transfers from legacy to non-legacy. Particularly as Yoshi quoted non-legacy servers as the target for the deprecation. You disagree, and think it is completely unrelated. That's fine, we can have different opinions. What do you think the reason they restrict world transfer is then?

ThanksI was just trying to look for at least one positive in this whole situation, and de-segregation was something that came to mind when I read Yoshi's post.
Yep, it's does feel like they aren't giving us the full picture, and using weak arguments to cover gaps in capability.
They have form for it though, claiming that /tell is restricted in instances to prevent abuse, when really there is a significant and costly technical challenge to overcome (namely coping with cross server name conflicts between players in instances and players on home world, like if you were in an instance with Some Player and send a /tell, should Some Player on the home world get it on the one from another instance in the server get it? Home? Instance? Both? ).

well,
I logged in last night after 2.1, did odin, got the new dungeons, logged off
and went to sleep. I did sit around for 3 hours, thinking 'nothing new going on here, should I level black mage?' the only real change I noticed was that they consolidated the buttons at the bottom right and revenants changed.

this has to be the first game where the excuse "we need to wait on hardware" was used.

I can't tell if I'm supposed to care because nothing that realistically effects me has been added. FC housing is so far out of reach I should be looking forward to personal housing. I do wonder if the whole "need more hardware" thing is going to effect me for that. I think it was probably a bad move on SE's part to promote FC housing so much since at the very least 20% of their FC's wouldn't be able to enjoy it for MONTHS. I would like to see the numbers on the actual amount of PEOPLE that get to enjoy the FC housing instead of just the % of FC's.
