That doesn't answer my question as to why there is such a huge disparity in pricing. Why would someone finish the story and just sit on 400k without trying to make money? I don't really understand this mindset. Every Final Fantasy before (even console FF games) this one required people to farm monsters, sell items, or craft to make gil to buy additional items that aren't given to your for free via a quest or storyline mission. So why is it now that people expect to just do quest and never work on money gathering?
My first play through I got about 300k, and I did buy a few nice things and this was also before the repair cost nerf, so 400k is probably about right.
