This is your playerbase, SE. These are the people that are paying to experience your content. Give us a way in - we're all FF players here, we expect the grind to achieve. But if we can't even get started, people won't even bother.
We're already past the point of no return. Yoshi won't be able to reduce the prices now, or else the people who bought one with 600+mil gil will be very upset. Japanese devs won't do this.
