yea see why I am lost I thought less potency means lower healing so if it was 100 now its 50 that would be a drop in healing regardless of the time right? this is making my head hurt anyone good at excel here![]()
The only reason I'm bummed about Holy potency being nerfed is that solo farming skins/crafting mats/what have you on WHM is a pain in the booty because of mana lost. With cleric stance killing a mob of ornery karakuls I think I needed to use 3 Holy to kill them? losing 40 potency per Holy will it require that I cast yet another Holy? I don't know. It really doesn't matter that much. It will still get the job done. I don't think it will be a drastic difference.
I would have preferred they nerf the potency even more but reduce the mana cost by a great margin.

For simplicity's sake, let's pretend that 1 potency = 1 hp (You have like, 0 MND or something IDK)
Let's also pretend that Heals over Time tick once per second (because I'm a shitty WHM and have never paid attention to how often they happen)
2.0: 100 Potency, 15 second duration
100 HP per tick, 15 ticks
1,500 HP
2.1: 50 Potency, 30 second duration
50 HP per tick, 30 ticks
1,500 HP
All I want to know is who is going to let people not get topped off for 30s. Titan's stomps last like 5-10s. Some groups don't even see turn 4 enrage, and if you do its better to have a higher heal over time (new change halves the heal over time of medica II, even if it is the same potency).
Plus if you use it, your going to get things like the fairy topping people off way before the 30s is up, causing more overheals than before. It's easy to see it's a big nerf.

Yup. Yup.
But it is what it is.
It's FFXIV.
(For you - That's the problem)

White Mage as a class isn't needed in FF14. Just give the Tank a summoning button that allows them to have a Whm like pet.

Dude... your entire post, I was totally with you the entire way. Great way to put it down on paper and truly analyze everything. But this line right here... that's where you lost all respect. You are going to tell Yoshi that you know the classes better than the people who made them...? Seriously? You want the devs to see this? So what? They can hate you for bashing them and then TELLING them its a bash. So rude and disrespectful. You almost had a perfect analytic post.
Maybe I should have used veteran instead of decent, my bad. Everyone was crappy at certain point of time. What matters more is how you absorb stuff & execute them close to perfection.
I mentioned earlier holy is OP in niche situations and usually inefficient dps due to low dpm in most other situations.
Those whms doing sub 10min wp sr will tell you that they outdps their blms unless their blms are doing the double dip fast cast flares rotation which is fixed.
Theres a reason why players want whms over schs for wp sr. Schs' aoe need ramp up time of around 10sec to spread & limited to 3 other targets.
I am not worried about any nerfs, good players adapt to changes. What I am more worried about is how the devs decide on nerfs & apparent failed class balance testing as evident from the warrior fiasco & the current statement that medica2 was not nerfed.
Cause warrior totally wasn't broken and everyone totally didn't know it before them. Just pointing out that it's easy for them to make a mistake since the people handling the balancing often times don't even play and just stare at numbers.Dude... your entire post, I was totally with you the entire way.
