Eh RMT's will bot toons to lvl50 just to access this line of quests.

Promoting more people to buy materia, seek out crafters to meld, and possibly influence/provoke them to level their own crafts (thus most likely buying leve items), isn't exactly problematic in my view. Even if materia prices drop, they'll still have to buy up materia when they inevitably fail to adv meld equips. The market won't change much thanks to that fact.
I think you underestimate how RMT run things in any MMO. They don't run just one account (or even a few). They run dozens (maybe even hundreds) of accounts on every server at any given time. Having multiple means to acquire gil means faster income.

They also added several new types of rather useless materia (at least for PVE) which will likely reduce the overall yield of desirable materia. I think we're still somewhere near status quo here with the boost to i55+ SB rate and the one-and-done quest rewards.

Hahah you have no idea how wrong you are. And also you dont have to belive anything you dont want to, and you dont have to respond.
Baby wants his bottle? This post is senseless crying. I don't see threads of people complaining about quest giving out high lvl foods or potions. Maybe some people never used any of these items before, but now after benefiting from it they'll seek them out.

Considering the overall trend of prices is deflationary and things like housing are making people way more thrifty this is an incredibly foolish thing to do.
If you did the CT and main story quests early you made good bank selling fast. Those prices are unlikely to return, they were falling anyway.
Yay, more materia for everyone!

I'll just hang on to the materia till prices go back up. Sooner or later all that free materia is going to be sold and used.
