I think what people need to realize with the whole price dropping down to max 50% thing is...
If I recall correctly, they will not be opening up new instances until every plot in an instance has been sold.
Additionally, if they open up a new instance every plot will be at 100% of the cost again and it will take three months to drop down. The plot you were eyeing gets sniped? Well, better wait three months for something you can afford! You can afford a small house after three months? Sorry only large, elite plots left better wait until a new instance gets opened!
If no one buys the super-expensive houses though, as FCs are delicate and fickle things that have many members of varying dedication to the game, moral alignment, and income, I don't think we'll be seeing all that many sell. Maybe a few, but not enough to provide small housing for all those that can afford it or do save up for three months.
You know, you started off ok then at some point it just went horribly wrong. Not to mention that you're using the maximum price.20,000g per day. So an FC with 10 members will make 200k a day, the cheapest house on Durandal is 40,000,000 . 40,000,000 / 200,000 = 200 days to obtain the smallest house. 30 days (roughly) in a month, 200/30 = over 6 months to obtain the cheapest house on Durandal.
20,000 per day, the most expensive house is 645,000,000, so it'll only take 32,250 days for that FC to obtain that, or with 100 members, 3,250 days, or with 1,000, a year.
"Let's introduce content that most people will not obtain"
"Why?!"
"Why not?"
"Oh, okay, let's go for it!"
To save you some face and all the likes on your post too, I'll give you a hint. An FC has more than 1 person.
I don't get why every FC is looking for the top house, even those with less than 20 people (Yoshida said the mansion is for 20+ members FCs).
As if I would own a Ferrari working at McDonald (random example, nothing against you guys!).
You don't even know where the 5th rate plots are. It may not be bad at all and more close to your purchasing ability.
So let me get this right.
Looking at the list of FC house prices, they seem to have 5 tiers for prices from small to large houses.
They also have a Tier for which servers you are on. 5 Tiers to be exact, so 5 different prices for the houses from small to large.
Reading the latest live letter, Yoshi mentions that players can earn around 20,000 gil daily.
That would be fine if all the prices of the FC housing are the same but they are not.
So people on the high Legacy tiers, have to pay up to 10 times the amount for an FC house.
The only thing that WOULD make sense is if you are the on higher tier servers then they should increase the daily income you can make.
So on Tier 1 Fc housing prices, you can make 20,000 gil a day.
Those on Tier 2, you can make 30,000 gil a day.
Tier 3, ......., you should be able to make 40,000 a day.
ETc...
Now IF that was the case then sure the FC housing price differences from 1 server to another would be fair but the way it is now???
Why should the people in the top 3 server Tiers gain the exact same amount of gil as any other server, yet have to pay up to 10 times for their FC housing?
Not very well thought out at all and certainly doesn't seem fair.
Yet another slap to those that got stuck on Legacy servers.
I can only imagine that personal housing will have the same idea of different prices for different servers.
Seems like once transfers from legacy to non legacy opens up, people are just going to transfer to be able to afford personal housing.
No wait !?!
There is a limit to how much gil you can transfer with you...
Seriously who comes up with these ideas? talk about being out of touch, seems like the producers are working on a complete different game than what we are playing!
Dictatorship at its best!!

Someone overreacted now didn't they? I merely said it's not a lot to do and if you wouldn't jump the gun and assume am being a dick you'd learn that I can understand where he comes from. If you wanna start a e-peen war about how much many you can make with someone who mentioned how much they make. Maybe you should go back to WoW and do it there.
But EmeraldSerenade actually is rather spot on about all this, cause if they all get bought out fast problematic bugs could happen as well as a huge demand for more land which means more servers would be needed for all that space. While I hate the price right now, it will go down in time.
Because I wanted to express my opinion on the matter. Am I not allowed to do that? Are we not allowed to discuss both opinions on the matter? I guess the answer would be no, and that we all have to be apart of the hivemind and shake our fists at Square Enix. *rolls eyes*You don't care so therefore your opinion is colored and therefore doesn't contribute meaningfully to the discussion of those who give a damn about this problem. I don't care for pvp.. I don't go into those threads and bitch that it sucks but I don't care anyway so I may be biased". If you don't care why are you here?
I could not care less if you went and did that, to be honest. You're free to write whatever you want, wherever you want.![]()
This is a discussion forum. Where people discuss things. Get used to it.
Ridiculous policy, unbelievably insulting. Yoshi repeating his pre-made talking points. Not listening to a thing we're saying.
"Working as intended, nothing to see here, go back to your--er--inn rooms. Keep paying your subscription fees. Please look forward to it."
Not good enough.
Keep making noise, community. It'll get through to them eventually. They will get to determine how painful they wanna make this for everyone involved.

Eius in obitu nostro praesentia muniamur.
I'm old school MMO and I and others, seems very few, know that accomplishments take time. I'm here for the long haul and am looking forward to when my FC acquires a house.
To many "kids" have this me me today today mentality...
We all wanted housing and we are getting it.. and once one gets their housing... the hard work and team work, only those "smart" enough to implement it, will reap the benefits while the others are a distant memory.
Oh... I'll share a thought that crossed my mind.. the days of FC jumping may be over.. and those leaders who are not confident in their members.... hope you don't suffer burn out from disloyal members jumping to others FC's who have housing that will benefit their members.... hmmmm.....
