This... This is the part that really grates on me.
SE controls the amount of instances. They could easily make it so that there is never a situation where there is NO land available.

If they have to limit the number of instances because their hardware can't handle it, they should, I dunno... upgrade the bloody hardware perchance? There's no excuse for that to be such a frequent limitation.

I want to point out that before people invest in FC housing right away, they might want to consider the possibility of the devs acting on the complaints and deciding to adjust prices down later. There will be tremendous anger from those who spent the gil for the original prices should there be no refunds.

I actually think the prices are fine. Yes I am Legacy and nooo I am not rich in game, no where close to it but I do like the idea of gradually working towards an in game investment of good content even if it is expensive, just prefer doing it for solo housing and so I do not know if I will contribute to a FC house or not. I can't wrap my mind around enjoying a use for group housing yet and that may change when I see it but until I do I will enjoy other stuff.

RMT is the only way i can think of how people can afford these houses , RMT will be thriving as never before , and that will result into everyone getting increased spams , housing prices are a lose-lose situation , players lose motivation to play and earn housing because there is no way to get that gil legally , SE will lose customers over this because the prices are disrespectful for people paying money for a subscription and never get access to a house, this is a great example how game feature additions should not be handled (making them virtually non existent and locked out for most of the players)

So you'll be lazy and not work on other ways to get money? I make 200-300k a day (Just about every day, sometimes 150k area just depends on what am selling and such)

I'm far from lazy, but my gil goes on helping my friends "yay, level 50 <DoH>" "sweet, let me make you the 50 gear!" is my usual response.

The members of my FC were working together to purchase the FC land, and I'm sure the vast majority of FC's were also putting gil into the FC store so they could get housing together. As the FC leader of a social FC who are friends that enjoy playing together, I cannot in any good conscience ask them to donate millions of gil towards a small 5th class bit of land. Several of our members already donated 90% of their gil to SE in the transition from 1.0 to 2.0, losing millions of gil that way then expecting to lose more? Nupe.

Not to mention they have mentioned plans to allow FCs to have 'building projects' in their homes, like airships. As well as bonuses to crafting and such.

Yeah i remember airship and raisong chocobos but this is not in 2.1 so for the moment its just buying and decorating. You can find spot to hang out with fc anywhere in aeorzea and save money for when there will actually be something to do in house

True enough. And while its true you can hang out anywhere in Eorzea for free, there is something special to having a spot of your own to share with friends. Especially if you can place your FCs achievements in it like the Primal Furniture. Not to mention I know the RP population would be chomping at the bit for something like this.

Not to mention this is a game, and people want to play with all the features. Hence why you see CT being accessible to Pugs for instance, as well as all players having access to high level gear and not just the top-end raiders. Housing is another aspect of the game that a particular section of players would enjoy immensely, even if it is simply as spending money to decorate a room in a particular fashion. Some people are like that, myself included. There isn't much else I spend gil on bar repairs. I will help my FC save for a house, or failing that a house for myself when they release it down the line, because it sounds fun to me.

Perfectly legitimate explanation as to why prices will start out so high. (They can always be altered)

Huge houses aren’t content that people should have fresh out the box; it's something we should strive for. Having a huge mansion should be a status symbol (Like they're trying to do) not something everyone's able to achieve by pooling their quest gold.

Were I Yoshi, I would be completely disgusted with this community right now. They're giving us a ton of new dungeons, content and a -FREE- way to change your characters appearance and all you can do is piss and moan about how unfair you're being treated.

The only complaints that are justified are the class nerfs. Nobody likes being nerfed; people actually do quit over it, Mr. P.
