Largest house on Hyperion = 150M gil = 150 people donate 1M each, easy

24 people, cheapest legacy land - 8M, 24/8= 333,333 Gil. Is it really that much? I think that after finishing all quests 1-50 on my first job I had about 400K.

According to patch notes, cheapest for my server is 20m, don't know why Yoshi said 8M for legacy.

Aside from that, 150m for 150 people to donate, does anyone here have an FC with 150+ people that:
- Play constantly
- Would donate 1m to leader of FC
- Are interesting housing
- Are generous

I think it's very slim lol. I've been in a couple FC's with 200-300 members but only ever maybe 50-70 are ever active as most quit after launch.

SE seems to be trying to combat a phenomenon called diffusion of responsibility. YES, it's difficult for any one person to meaningfully contribute to the giant honking mansion. However, if you guys can't trust people in your FC enough to donate a small amount (500k-1M, which is not large) to a common cause, then there's a problem. The other problem is that everyone assumes they're going to get the highest quality largest size mansion, when that mansion is designed for super large FCs. OF COURSE it's unreasonable for a 50 person FC to get the giant-ass mansion because it's designed to be bought by 100+ people.

I'm not in their FC but I like hanging out in TS3 with Pass the Bong (the largest FC on my server) and yesterday I heard them all banding together as a group to brainstorm ways to make money and then they went and got it. Obviously, it's a long, hard, three month project to raise 312M to get the big-ass house but they sound committed and it's giving them a cause and a goal to rally around. If a bunch of stoners can summon the effort to make 312 million gil, why can't you?

Because most people don't have a FC with 300 people that play a lot and want to hand out 500k to 1m? Especially not for something that is just cosmetic fun at the end of the day...

It will be really interesting to see in 3 months how many houses have actually been made. I bet maybe a couple small ones and thats it. Anything can happen in 3 months and you're trusting a lot of gil to a few people...

Your own FC only has 49 active members lol, and looking at them, most look like alts or people who quit as they dont have a 50, some don't even have a lv 30+, yeh I don't see 6.3m coming from them... Each one has to give up 6.3m to someone in your FC to buy the house. Show me a screenshot when that happens

so you all have to make 5m and give it over. Thats more than you currently have, but if your fine with that, so be it, getting 25m is easy. The steep jump to the next one such as 75m is a lot harder. Even a FC with about 30 active members probably wont.

The issue for medium isn't so much "too out of our reach", its that it just is not worth it and you need everyone to be on board, which most wont care. I don't, im not giving 5-10m of my gil that is very tough to come by for some cosmetic crap that has no use and will be forgotten about in a month like every single game its ever been in.

Small house is the size of your Inn, too small for anything.

You think 150 people will just happily go "here FC, have 1m!", its not that easy and since you're in such a small FC and think its easy makes me think you've never been in a 100-200 active FC before.

Most FC have 50 (active) members or less. Most players in said FCs have never seen 1.000.000 gil. In my current FC I'm the only one who has more than 500k. You can't expect that everyone is going to give ALL the money they have, I mean, they pretty much worked 2-3 months for that already.

The small house was the one shown in the previous LIVE letter (i.e., not the one yesterday). Here's a video. Looks way bigger than an inn room to me. I don't know what SE thinks "small", "medium", and "large" are internally but I would guess that small is <30 members and large is >100 members, just judging by the numbers they've set for land prices. They have set the prices according to what they think a S/M/L FC should be with each member contributing a reasonable amount.

Do you think with these outrageous prices that people aren't going to be spending less money in the marketplace to save-up? That kinda puts a wrench in your 'make-money' plans if everyone else in every other FC is trying to do the same thing for a long time to actually save up for these houses.

There are ways to make money other than from other people. We were doing some tests yesterday: you can make ~2-2.5k gil from killing WP trash up to the first boss, quit, then restart the instance in less than 3 minutes. On top of that, you can SB ilvl55 gear at the same time. Just run 1 PLD, 3 WHM in full militia gear and make tons of money.

I'd rather wait for individual housing personally. If I'm going to fork over a bunch of money, I want it tied to my own character only.
