How so?, ok look we can dig deeper-
On my server (non-legacy) a first class plot costs 8 million gil-
You have a FC with 8 people, thats 1 million each.
You have a FC with 16 people, thats 500k each
You have a FC with 24 people, thats 250k each
So if you have a medium sized FC with 24 active people, it will cost you 250k for a small First Class plot of land. Even less if you wait for the price drop.
How isnt this reasonable pricing?.
Our FC has 31 active members (logged in during last 7 days). I'm not sure of the house sizes but I've read the small one is about the same size as inn room which is too small for that many people. I'd assume we'd need a medium size house which would cost at least 75M (plus, you know, the actual house). This would mean all our active members should donate a bit more than 2,4 million gil each. For the lowest price medium land, not even including the actual house and furniture. Most our members have somewhere between 50k and 1M. To buy us a common house they would have to farm more gil they've ever even had. I don't see how this could be seen as reasonable.

-because they said in the live letter that small house was design with 4-5 man cl in mind. 20 is just ridiculous
-Because they said it would be affordable, even rift a free to play have a more affordable housing than this. Everyone and their mother can get into it.
-Because in 2.0 everyone, on every server, had the same way to make gils. Punishing the majority of a server just because they happen to have some filthy rich on them is not the way to go.

I dont know what other servers people are on so im making an example from my own server.-Because not everyone is on your server

How many FCs have just 5 people in them? lets be real and go with the bare minimum of 8
A small fifth class plot costs 3.2 million (discounted) on my server split that between 8 people and you have a very affordable house.

editing in a response ... please wait for the edit beep (most stupid forums ever ...... ) ..... beep.
Small housing on starter servers with a small free company is probably closest to reasonable ... but even then is a bit much... you were still just given farming gil as 'content' >.> .... but even on those servers the medium and large housing pretty much means that you will not have months of constant farming ...How so?, ok look we can dig deeper-

we all know the content they will release will be irrelevant after a couple of weeks to those that actually still log in rather ... they just gave those people a reason to stand around and farm/craft rather than just log out (which most do). ... and it is a pretty crappy way to get people to log in ... and do something most would rather not do.
my friend and i actually went through each reduction after ever 6 hours to try and replicate the totals they came up with in the example given ... we couldn't ... we could get close assuming .14% (which is equal to .0014 btw) ... but even with rounding we couldn't get close enough to the numbers they gave.
I'm guessing on top of all the other housing nonsense there is some additional stuff going on with the reductions. Also not sure why they cap at going to half the cost ... if no one wants to buy them at half the cost ... why not just let them continue to fall until they are finally at reasonable prices ?_?
If you want a large house (125mil on "cheaper" servers):How so?, ok look we can dig deeper-

You have a FC with 8 active people who are willing to donate, thats 15,625,000 Gil each.
You have a FC with 16 active people who are willing to donate, thats 7,812,500 Gil each.
You have a FC with 24 active people who are willing to donate, thats 5,283,333 Gil each.
You have a FC with 50 active people who are willing to donate, thats 2,500,000 Gil each.
For something aimed as being a leisure and cosmetic item it's very unreasonable pricing.
The prices for small are vaguely reasonable, middle sized are way over priced and large are insane.

67mil if my math is right, thats at discounted price which people will be aiming for, half the numbers you're posting. If you want a large house (125mil on "cheaper" servers):

Besides large houses should be borderline impossible to get for a small FC, they should be a grind and an achievement. Otherwise whats the point in having small FC houses?.
On top of that how long have we been playing the game?, how much money have we made?, a year from now how much money will you have?. 67mil for a large first class house isnt outrageous.
It appears prices will drop 0.14% every 6 hours, though it's not clear.67mil if my math is right, thats at discounted price which people will be aiming for, half the numbers you're posting.

They say houses will not drop below 50%, but it may not get down to 50% even, this is unclear.
What we do know is they will start at 125mil, so this is the value I'll use when doing the math.

I think that's clear enough to be fair."Example:
Small
- Starting Price: 8,000,000 gil
- 10 Days Later: 7,552,000 gil
- 15 Days Later: 7,328,000 gil
- 30 Days Later: 6,656,000 gil
- 90 Days Later: 3,698,000 gil
* The price will reduce a maximum of 360 times in 90 days and will will fall to half its starting price."
