Miasma II with contagion.Don't put Miasma II in there unless you're fighting more than one mob. For one you'll have to be close to the mob and, secondly, it's overall potency is worse than ruin. That being said, casting Ruin over and over can become boring so I do add a miasma II sometime myself for the sake or diversity.
good summoners already spam ruin 1 and 2 dont be stupid.
Raging Strikes + Int Potion + Thunder (and other dots of course) + Contagion is far, FAR more DPS than just "Ruin 2 moar" (which, if you're casting Ruin 2, you're bad. If you're suggesting it, you have no credibility).
Also, with Boot change, DPS goes down further.

It still is a dps loss, stack in the change to bane and contagion, and the loss of a viable crit option for boots.
It isn't one thing, it's all these things together that hurt the job. I already said in an earlier post above yours that we will have to toss in ruin/ruin2 to offset some of the dmg loss from thunder, but it is still a lot. The loss of thunder, given the amount it can do when it crits, is still a loss of at least 10% dmg over ruin 1/2 (considering ruin 1/2 both need to crit to deal the same dmg as thunder)
Miasma 2 is there for completeness of damage for an over all picture. Never once did I say it's a primary rotation, just the complete total damage you can do, as a smn, w/o your egi boosts or crits. Because this is a picture of -YOUR- damage, not your egi or bust damage. That amount is a picture of the damage you output over time, which is your primary source of damage. thunder is DOING its damage while you can do these burst activities.
As for egis, that's a whole kettle of broken fish that needs to be fixed badly.
Edit: Actually let's take your inclusion of Egis. Without thunder being boosted by Contagion, it is now a bigger loss than alone.

Basically zero point to this class in coil now besides turn 4.
Thunder was more damage than ruin, *however* you will now be casting ruin instead. So while it is a nerf, it isn't as big as 10-15% your damage.Patch notes: "Thunder Can now only be used by thaumaturge and black mage."
Thunder is at least 10% - 15% of SMN total DPS (including pet). This is a pretty big nerf for SMN... especially considering melee DPS classes are getting buffed.
Well, time to go BLM.. except for all this myth I spent.

Before: INT+18, VIT+18, Critical Hit Rate+21, Accuracy+15
