Was I clearly joking?

Hello. Just wanted to get some opinions on this.

So, in WP last night, I get DF'ed into a group that clearly out geared me. Relic +1's and the whole bit. At the start I said "another weak group that i have to carry"... all 3 party members examined me and "lol"'d, after I used the /embarrassed emote several times.

We get to 2nd boss and wipe because the BLM didn't know what to do when he got targeted. The WHM says "thank god for our gear... and our tank. They are totally carrying us". Everyone lols.

At the last boss, I exclaim that I was tired from carrying everyone so fast. We kill last boss, blm died to slashers (not getting out of the way >.>).

At the end of the instance, i bow and say "no thank you's for the carry? pfffft." lol's from everyone but the blm, who asks, "what server are you on?" I reply with "Goblin, you?"

his response: "now i understand... all elitist f*cks like you on goblin".

I was flabbergasted. First of all, as I understand it, goblin is a low pop server. I have 1 job at 50 and play 2 days a week most weeks. Clearly not an elitist... I fail to see how anyone could have not understood that I was joking because I was definitely the one getting carried for most of the Speed Run.

Is that really Goblin's reputation? smh...

Well, the fact that they didn't get the joke doesn't really bother me... it wasn't lost on the other 2 members... Im more confused about goblin players being elitists... how the heck did that rumor get started...?

Never heard the rumour myself. He would have said that no matter what server you're on. I believe "butthurt" is the term here.
