I love joking around in the game more than most people tend to. I just don't find what you did to be funny at all. So rather than say something, I just ignore people that joke around like that. And to be honest, you can't expect people to pick up on sarcasm via text.

and I do understand what you went through. I've tried a few sarcastic jokes in the game that meet with failure because people thought I was being serious, lol. In real life, you can make a funny face or change the pitch of your voice to let people know you're being sarcastic. In the game you just can't do that, which is why people get so uptight over the smallest things.

It's possible that the BLM either had a run in with another person from the server, and decided to stereotype all from it when he took your joke personally.
From the sounds of it, the fact that he had better gear than you, and didn't know how to do the second boss of WP... sounds like he's been carried by someone and is sore about that already. So your joke hit home a bit more than it should have.

Other thought is that he's just a pr**k and wanted something to blame your attitude on instead of you, yourself, to avoid a verbal fight. XD

Could be the way he took the question. "So, no thank you's?"
He may have seen it as you being serious. Like someone else said; not that easy to really portray your 'attitude' in text. Which is why I tend to add an 'lol' or :P at the end of messages I'm joking around with.

Lots of serious people in this game. I have a friend who likes to make jokes all the time and is sad when no one in the party gets it.
