30 primary stats don't mater. That is why when I got to coil I toss on a couple pieces of AF gear.

Won't happen, atleast till they add more jobs to branch off of other classes, ACN/SMN/SCH is mostly testing the waters for branching jobs
You'll have to deal with picking one job and sticking to it or begin to like farming 10k seals to switch the stats
it really isn't enough to make that much of a difference. I did a reset on scholar just to test how much it changed healing then did our usual coil raid and cleared twintania without even having the points spent on anything and didn't even notice until afterwards when i was playing with costume gear and saw the 30 above my stat sheet
It really is pretty minor. It devalues more and more as you gain stats from gear and levels.
And i don't see how it nulls the armory system at all. It doesn't prevent you from leveling every class to 50 and every class has it's own allocation. If they ever get to the point where every class has 2 jobs you'll have to choose a bonus stat for each one but in reality it's still way more diverse than "dual spec" in WoW
You can have a tank, a melee dps, a ranged, a caster, a healer and even multiple variants of each role all on one character and you can change between them almost anywhere
The only limitation is specing bonus towards one job per class and even that has a workaround with hymns and even then the only thing keeping you from doing both is yourself because 30 stat points won't stop you from clearing even the hardest content

Or when every class has a second job, then you'll see a lot more complaining. This is intended and it should be the way it works, the only reason why its a problem now is because arcanist is the only job with 2 classes and it seems unfair. when each class has a second job, then it will be more acceptable. you should have to choose your specializations, one character can be every job, but it doesn't mean you should be able to 100% everything. hence, a branching system.
The best part of the FF Job system (in any FF game) is flexibility. Picking specialization stats runs counter to that flexibility.
Either way, the current stat allocation system is pretty stupid. Each class has a primary stat, that you by and large want to be sticking all your points in. They did that on purpose to simplify the stat system. If they're going to over simplify the stat system such that each class has a best stat, why even give the choice?
I really prefer the suggestion that the stat allocation be changed to work on secondary stats instead (like crit, skill speed, and det). Aside from being a more interesting and involved choice than just boosting your primary stat, they're also universal stats that will benefit any role. This way you don't end up with feeling like you're wasting your stat points if you want to use multiple jobs that are all based on the same class.

10k GC seals to switch, so if you play an average amount, you can switch once a week. I'de pick just 1.
on my scholar i went 20mnd 10vit. hp's are pretty freakin important for everyone
Hello all,
As Yoshida mentioned in a previous LIVE letter, these two jobs were planned to share stats and there are currently no plans to separate their stat allocations. When leveling each class, we'd like players to carefully consider how you'd like to allocate your earned stats. Of course, there is an item that allows you to reset them should you decide to move in a different direction, but it's something that takes time to acquire.

This kind of stance discourages players from leveling and playing multiple jobs which stem from the same class. I have SCH/SMN at 50 but I only play SCH because I don't want to split half of my bonus stats into a worthless stat, or settle for a secondary stat. Inb4 I'm labeled "hardcore" or "vocal minority", or any other buzzword cop-out for wanting to perform as best as I can when I play a job in FF.

We are all entitled to our opinion but I like it the way they have done it. If they allowed us to switch out our stats whenever we want, then what's the point of having the bonus stats in the first place, they should just take that away and add those points to the job itself.
I like having the freedom to choose and set these stats the way I want, and not have to change them every time I change my class, or have them change with the job. But that's my opinion.
Ya, it sucks for min/maxers but I play both SCH/SMN regularly, without issue.![]()
