If it's devs playing the game, they probably don't need to make videos with traditional roles. They can give themselves 100% dmg resistance and then make themselves gods of whoever-the-hell-wants-aggro-can-have-it.

If the word wasn't used in the Paladin job already it could be called a Sentinel. Or maybe Defender. And would have to be limited to Tower shields. But the idea is good![]()

Sounds like a Dev to me.
(And doing it as a DRG too hahahahahahaha)

They'd have to give Lancer one-handed spear first...which I think they should do with every weapon, not just WHM/BLM.
Two-handed sword for GLA (Future DRK ?), one-handed axe for WAR (Future I-don't-know-what-job-they'll-choose), and...well, PUG is a bit of a problem here.
Then they can do a "Ronin" class, to evolve into Ninja and Samurai![]()
why does no one remember that Templar is a thing?
Given that Ishgard is religious and FULL of dragoons, Templar is the perfect fit for the next lancer job that will unlock along with Ishgard.
Templar already has an existing (slightly) recurring presence within the FF games (the Tactics games, at least). There aren't really any other spear using tanky-types, though a possible name to use would be "Defender" if you wanted to go for a job without the religious overtones.

If looking at FF tactics, that version of Dragoon was able to equip shields.
Depending on my party make up, I would use a Dragoon in the front tiles.
So, with that history, it is possible for a Dragoon to have a tanking branch.

Works in this game as a class, and it's best stat growth is in fact defense.
I would love to see this working out as a very Avoidance based class, through Parrying TONS, and having ON-Parry skills that either, increase Damage Dealt, Buff the Templar's defenses, Add a de-buff.. Etc.

Neat. From the description of that class, I could see Templar requiring Conjurer as it's level 15 class requirement. Sorta like a paladin-lancer.http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/T...actics_Advance)
