I think it'd be cool if the house owner can use whatever's in his house to do extra damage (but this damages/destroys the items) so if you smash someone with your rosewood table you'll have to get a new one.
Is housing PvP even official? Last I heard, the time it was mentioned in the Live Letter IX it was actually a mistranslation from Japanese to English. Did SE confirm it?
I'll never get the allure of PvP that so many others do.
PvP,

God darn that took forever to load.
You know, maybe you ought to try it one day before shooting it down in a ball of flames.
The "allure" you refer to is fighting less predictable opponents. Most major PvE encounters in this game are heavily scripted and are the same every time you play them, and winning is mostly a matter of learning all the patterns. Those tactics don't get you far in PvP where not everyone behaves the same every time you encounter them. For me at least, it has nothing to do with simple competition and everything to do with the characteristics of combat.
MMO pvp is a joke as a whole and I don't even see myself how anyone could take them so seriously, but it's still sometimes a fun thing to do when pve is so repetitive. TBH though, fighter genre is the way to go if you wanna bash someones face in, in a competitive manner, and they do it right. But still, yea pvp in a mmo is better than having only pve, that's just bleh. Long as the monstrosity that is ballista that no one will ever speak of again never resurfaces, it'll be at least something else to do.
Yes they did. It's not going to be in 2.1, however.
If you wanna tumble with your friends, the team is currently thinking about keeping this type of friendly competition to the housing districts, though it won't be available for patch 2.1.
There were a few clarifications on PvP mentioned during the Letter from the Producer LIVE at Tokyo Game Show:
We will also be implementing new equipment and skills in patch 2.1 specifically to aid in balance for PvP. And as Yoshi-P specifically mentioned last week, we will continue to look into the causes for any lag that might occur and counter them to ensure players have a smooth experience.
