Lazy.
Lazy.
I'm the Bloodgaru Queen.
Oh, that's what this game is missing.
So you're in combat right and the gauge just filled up.
You ask your summoner to LB.
Click.
As soon as the summoner clicks his LB, the BGM changes to the most high pitched J-rock you ever heard, then the view zooms out for everyone in the party, all the way to show the planet we're on. At this point there's a voice-over shouting "HYAAAH!" while 5 burning suns merge in a HUGE explosion that forms a gigantic robot dragon with blue thruster rockets. The dragon stretches and screams, then transforms its head into a Gundam style laser cannon that charges up and fires at the LB target. The beam is wider than the planet and fires off missiles that circle the main laser. When the beam hits, the impact zone becomes an anti matter globe that inverts and tears the entire universe apart. Finally there's a sequence of mysterious laser grids on screen for a few minutes.
The LB deals 1300 damage and combat resumes.
Rushed game.
Ever since the the first time I used Braver as a Monk, I've considered this topic myself. The current system is probably a result of: A) quick planning B) SE simply providing a BETA previewing the mechanic to see how the community would respond.
While the developers have greater concerns at the moment, it's important that you brought attention to the subject for future consideration.
(05.07.2013) Interview with Naoki Yoshida at the Japan Expo, Paris

Chuki (JOL): About the Limit Break system, the thing is that players are a bit disappointed with it, some players are selfish and just press the button whenever it’s available and they’d rather have some individual Limit Break AND a group Limit Break they can use in very important situations, that would make things fairer for everyone.
Naoki Yoshida: Actually I have no intention to introduce individual Limit Break because that’s no different from another Weapon Skill apart from flashier effects; I don’t think there’s a problem for people to press the Limit Break button up to Lv50. We specially designed it so you can just go ahead and press it, it doesn’t have to be necessary to use Limit Breaks. However, in the more difficult battles you will have to consider when to use them, which one to use, which level, which action, that’s going to come up when we introduce the endgame content. From Lv50 onwards, we’ll have to make sure you use them at the right time, but before Lv50 just try your own Limit Break and see what kind of effect it has.
Sadly they don't want to do it. It would bring a little change at least and some uniqueness to jobs if we saw at least different animations.
Adventure, that's the life for me!
Class balance is bad enough as it is...
I'd rather they stay like they are.
Also, Meteor is cool.
I think they are gonna have to change them eventually...
I mean think about it, when we do finally get musketeer...what is it gonna do? It will be a true ranged DD (hopefully) so giving it healer LB will be dumb since we already have a ranged with that one. It can't do the melee LB cuz its ranged...so they'd have to add a new one.
I think the one reason that there aren't unique LB's is so that people don't end up bringing a class exclusively for that LB, which I believe Yoshi said was against his agenda for the game when it comes to partying and accessibility.
Though, I don't see why they aren't aesthetically different, other than it would take time away from other things, but at the end of the day, it's no biggy.
You mean like how people want a Melee LB for single boss mobs and BLM/SMN for Ifrit Nails? I'd say that's bringing/wanting certain classes for certain situations. I'd much rather them put development time into "fixing" Limit Breaks than adding more minions and more mounts.I think the one reason that there aren't unique LB's is so that people don't end up bringing a class exclusively for that LB, which I believe Yoshi said was against his agenda for the game when it comes to partying and accessibility.
