Eh, the only ones who want lockouts, tend to be greedy players anyways. Players don't really put thought into game progression and entertainment. Lets say we take all lockouts off.... then you'll have them on the forums, fully geared, bitching about having nothing to do anyways. It's really damned if you do, damned if you don't with them. So the best thing to do is let them rant. It's how they distract themselves while they wait for more content to come out from the holes they've dug themselves into.

Some people just don't like getting the most they can out of their game time and subscription money, they also love telling players who can actually invest the time to do content they should slow down and not play at their own the pace even though you know, it's their own money. See they might have a bit of a control issue or maybe they feel left behind and perhaps have just a tinge of jealousy, it really can't be helped.

Unfortunately, these things are basically mutually exclusive.

To get the most out of your game time, you have to do everything as quickly as possible.

To get the most out of your subscription money, you have to play 24/7 for the month, or as much as humanly possible.

These 2 playstyles clash, and combined are not sustainable for any developer, including Blizzard, which rakes in $100+ million every month from sub fees.

If there was no loot lockout CT would be farmed ENDLESSLY by people in the first week of release and they'd all be geared and wouldn't step foot into the content ever again.

It's better that you log in once a week than farming everything in the first month and unsubbing till the next patch.
