Wrong. People have so much money because the game has been out for 7 months already, R40 leves give a shitload of gil, people pay an assload for shards/crystals/clusters, and there is nothing to spend the gil on if you are already R50.The large amount of botting has led to serious gil inflation. As a result of this, a large amount of players have well over 20mil (some having upwards of 50 or 100+).
It's going to be that way anyways. Bots make it a little worse but if you're going to quit just because you can't be "elite," you really shouldn't play MMOs anyways since there will always be somebody much higher ranked than you since they started earlier. On top of this, gear doesn't make a huge difference as long as your rank is close to the optimal rank on the gear. So if you just buy new gear every 10 ranks you never have to have a new set...and repairsmen work for incredibly cheap as long as the repair ingredient is common (1-2k is dirt cheap).New players will feel unable to ever become elite or catch up to the huge amount of people that have multiple rank 50 jobs. This is especially detrimental to people who want to play the game as a crafter main, as it will be practically impossible to compete or profitably level up crafts when your server is full of people who have multiple crafts at rank 50 from botting.
As if elite stuff is only going to be purchasable and not untradeable drops? A good amount of regular players have a million gil as well. Hell, I had half a million gil by the time I was R15 from selling shards and crystals in the market wards :/Botters will essentially be the players who end up with all the elite stuff, since they have spent months botting millions of gil and will continue to do so since nothing is being done about it.
Botting is a problem because they drive prices down. They flood the market with gathered materials and shards, making those prices low, and then they are able to buy those materials (or just bot for them lololol) and craft stuff cheap. The problem isn't that they're making millions, it's that they're ensuring other people can't compete.
