Hopefully that will change come meteria system

I do hate that I'm forced to do either battle or gathering... and more often than not, battle leves get the nod. I would really like to see dedicated gathering leve spots... even if its less than the normal 8. Gathering is painfully slow as it is now
I agree with the op on this alot, atm I have events I run with my linkshell every reset 6/8 leves are for fighting.. so that means I am limited to 2 leves max per reset for gathering.
I see no reason to link them to fighting leves.
they give faction points, thats the reason.

So untrue. If you dedicated a couple hours a day to making money mining you can end up with a million gil daily in consistent sales. That's at worst, really.
Botany is not as good, obviously, but it's still not bad by any means. Most people who do gathering level them both at the same time for the obvious SP advantages, anyway.
After speaking to the dev. team regarding the difficulty of obtaining SP via gathering-related levequests, they have informed us that they will be adjusting gathering-related levequests to reward significantly more SP than they do currently. Now you can level quicker to obtain that Star-Spangled Subligar you always wanted!

But this doesn't tell us if we can do separate leves? I'm fine with more SP, but at the end of the day, I'm still going to do DoW/DoM leves over DoL if they are on the same counter still. After speaking to the dev. team regarding the difficulty of obtaining SP via gathering-related levequests, they have informed us that they will be adjusting gathering-related levequests to reward significantly more SP than they do currently. But agree with Apple. SP isn't the main problem though I'd like to see it fixed.. the issue we are talking about is that it takes away from battle leves to do gathering leves. People who like to rank up fighting classes and gathering classes are forced to choose between the two, and either give up SP for their battle classes to do gathering leves and vice verse.
I'd like to see gathering leves and battle leves be two separate categories that do not effect one another, I think that was the over all point of the thread.![]()

I'm just a bun boy, doing bun boy things.
Thanks for the response ^^! This idea actually came from a friend of mine and we thought it over as a pretty sound idea to implement within the game. Don't get me wrong, more sp for fieldcraft sounds great, but I think the ideal change would still to be to separate fieldcraft from battlecraft. This could stimulate class diversity and economic growth in a very positive manner while getting some people to try out fieldcraft possibly for the first time =)! Anyways, take it for what you will and thank you once again for the feedback =).After speaking to the dev. team regarding the difficulty of obtaining SP via gathering-related levequests, they have informed us that they will be adjusting gathering-related levequests to reward significantly more SP than they do currently.
