That's ok I did T1 didn't get anything, Then my wife does T1 with a PUG and Striking pants/ring dropped /sadface wanted those pants.Lol, that's already the system in place!
I'm pretty sure he meant "100% drop" as in there's a sure chance to get loot at all, not to get loot specifically for you. This is opposed to systems with "low drop" where you can kill the boss and you might not even get anything at all. Thus, CoB is already under D.
Sidenote: I haven't seen MNK drops in forever! I feel your pain.
D doesn't hurt the hard-cores as much as the casuals. Right now most FCs only have 1 or 2 core coil groups and everyone else is on the outside looking in, or forced to try to pug it/ form A static oustside of their fc, due to the character lockout system. Coil group 1 gets best raiders and it goes down from there."You know, I would really like to help them out and teach them how to run the instance but....my toon is locked out cause my static did it already".You run into that situation a lot.A) No Lock, Low drop: Hurts the casual player.
B) No Lock, 100% drop: Hurts the company. (People will spam farm then unsub.)
C) Lock, Low drop: Hurts everyone.
D) Lock, 100% drop: Hurts the hardcore.
B and C are definitely out, obviously. A Hurts a majority of players, where D hurts a minority.
You can please some of the people all of the time, all of the people some of the time, but not all the people all the time.
nothing is stopping you from leveling an alt to get more lock outs per week and be able to play with more of your friends if you have the time for it. now if only I could send stuff to my alt with out involving a free company chest or auction house manipulation would be great >_>
The Job system and armory are some of the key features of ffxiv and you are punished for using it correctly. So I should have make a new toon go though all the story/ grand company progression. Just to A gain lockout that should have been on jobs from the start. no thx.nothing is stopping you from leveling an alt to get more lock outs per week and be able to play with more of your friends if you have the time for it. now if only I could send stuff to my alt with out involving a free company chest or auction house manipulation would be great >_>
Huh, you know I just realized if you were trying to get all the sets for vanity it would take roughly seven and a half months assuming you got one piece each week and no change to the loot system in a later patch.
Lock out hurts the players more than any benefit it may bring to them. It is entirely for the company to pad out content, stretch it to its breaking point while they scramble to make more to release a few months down the pipeline.
Look at content that isn't locked. Even though I already have all my relics, out of sheer boredom I will still participate in Titan pick up groups, because it is an entertaining fight, and it feels good to help people. I'm only losing my time, hardly a big deal. To me, this is a good thing, promotes socializing with other players.
Coil, on the other hand, I am not really allowed to help others outside of my group. If I were to do that, I would screw over the 7 other people I always do Coil with. Also difficult to teach people new to Coil in this kind of environment, because we need to butcher our already established group to mix and match experienced members with people new to the instances. I'm sorry, but if the game is going to actively make it so difficult to help others, I'd really rather just stick with my clique of competent players and do my own thing, it is far less of a headache.
well. it is currently the highest tier dungeon in the game. it wasn't supposed to be easy. plus, it doesn't matter who has the best group, they should be able to form their own and work on their gameplay and teamwork. its the only content in the game currently that requires players to organize among themselves. heck i got into a full dl static where only the bards had some ilvl 90. we cleared t4 on the first week.
