Can I have option D? I would love to have 100% drop and then get locked out of coils.....errr unless your talking about Crystal Tower then no!A) No Lock, Low drop: Hurts the casual player.
B) No Lock, 100% drop: Hurts the company. (People will spam farm then unsub.)
C) Lock, Low drop: Hurts everyone.
D) Lock, 100% drop: Hurts the hardcore.
B and C are definitely out, obviously. A Hurts a majority of players, where D hurts a minority.
You can please some of the people all of the time, all of the people some of the time, but not all the people all the time.
Takes forever to gear in CoB.
The thing is, people always say "level all your jobs, level all your crafting classes, level your gathering jobs". While this IS an option, for most, it is not. Some people only play to fully master and gear 1 job that they really like, there's no need to level all of them. It's already seen with the myth cap. It's designed so you can gear up one job the best it can be. Leveling all jobs is just a cop out to stay online. That's not enjoyable while you're waiting to get back to your main job.
First of all lock outs are not to extend content but to make up for the lack of endgame content.
Once new endgame content comes around the lockout will be taken away for the first level trust me.
the main issue is that we will have to wait until 2.2 (+2 month?) to have an information about that . by looking at the 2.1 Q&A , all we can tell they don't want to touch BCOB insane lockout and that they WANT to put More limitations , aka new primals/CT weekly loot lockout ........... they swear only by those ....
we have already waited since the release date a "fix" .... the true thing is the lockout are only here NOt to fix endgame content but to HOLD US by telling us how much raid time we can do per week .
Lol, that's already the system in place!
I'm pretty sure he meant "100% drop" as in there's a sure chance to get loot at all, not to get loot specifically for you. This is opposed to systems with "low drop" where you can kill the boss and you might not even get anything at all. Thus, CoB is already under D.
Sidenote: I haven't seen MNK drops in forever! I feel your pain.
Why should I or anyone else trust that, the only way I'd believe that is if Yoshi-P said that the lockouts would go away, and since he never said that they're temporary I'm more inclined to believe that the lockouts will in fact be permanent and it'll take at minimum 25 weeks to get all the armor sets from CT and considering 2.2 would have been out 12 weeks after 2.1 minimum we'll be looking at 3 more months beyond 2.2 to even have all the gear sets for they vanity system which should be released in 2.2.

E) Easy mode w/ Lock, 100% drop + Hard mode w/ No lock, Low drop.A) No Lock, Low drop: Hurts the casual player.

C) Lock, Low drop: Hurts everyone.
D) Lock, 100% drop: Hurts the hardcore.

However only able to enter one version of the instance a week. Casuals can enter the easy mode lock/guarantee drop version, but hardcores can spam the hard mode as much as they like.
Granted this will never happen, and would require alot of work and balancing issues...
There's a difference between having the chance to obtain something, and being told there is no way you are getting anything. We have people saying they'd run a dungeon 1000 times if they could get an item. But if they are suggested to run it twice without an item, they'll respond "Hell no, the dungeon is boring".
You don't have to share my opinions, but for the love of god stop tormenting yourselves with content you hate. Either just quit and find something you like, or learn to like the dungeons so you can do it even without loot.
It is terrifying that we have a vocal minority here who plays the game and demands things, but they actually don't like a single part of the game.
You don't have to share our opinions, but for the love of god stop assuming we hate this game. It is quite possible to enjoy the game but dislike a system or two inside of it. Believe it or not, you do not have to 100% love or hate this game.
It is just as "terrifying" (really... terrifying?) that people still think saying the opposing opinion "Is the vocal minority!" is a get out of jail end all statement when discussing different views.
It must be great to be the type of person with no goals whatsoever-- the type of person that lives in a constant state of having nothing they desire to achieve or work towards. You float along in the wind, a special snowflake, never quite touching the ground in your continued journeys, a jewel in the sky for all to behold.I wonder when the MMO zombie holocaust was.
Because as far as I can tell, we are surrounded by people who can't think of anything to do on their own. They only react to the sound of loot hitting the floor. And when they hear loot on the floor, they rush towards it and intend on consuming it regardless of what they have to pass through to get it. When they are out of loot, they go back to idle mode and just moan and stay in place. Oh, and constantly make threads about how they have nothing to do, can't forget that part.
Play the game one week with another goal than getting loot. I challenge you all to do this, because I know none of you will and I can count myself a default win in this discussion.
Here are possible things to do in the game:
Dungeons (Oh! Those give experience a- a- and, oh dear lord, loot! Can't do that then.)
Leves (M- m- money? Mats? Almost like loot? A- and experience? My god, a travesty. Get that away from me!)
Guildhests (Seems this one is plagued with experience too! Be gone, foul demon from my sanctuary of goodness!)
Chocobo Leveling (This one seems alright, you just kill mobs and-- wait. Wait. M- mobs? EXP? No! And you get barding! Augh! Away with you!)
Crafting (Phew, I found something safe. I'm actually consuming items! This is amaz-- no. Wait. Gil. Is nothing sacred anymore?)
Gathering (Maybe this is safer-- no. Mats. Gil. This is just like crafting only worse!)
...
RP (... Y- yes. This is... this is it. This is what I've been waiting for. A completely social act that has absolutely no reward whatsoever. This is my one true lord, our savior in this mire of darkness. Let us form a parade of unicorns in Mor Dhona. We must convert others to our ways and show them the light. Let's sit in a circle and regale the times we defeated the mighty Ultima Weapon in iambic pentameter.)
The answer is clear everyone. Malamasala has given us a great gift this day. The light is before you, should you choose to step into it.
