I hope PvP nerfs does not Effect PvE.

Patch 2.1 is close, soon a swarm of "OMG OP, NERF NOWZ" threads are incoming with the usual end of the world threads in increased volumes. Such prediction is not a speculation, most of us have seen it happen in every single MMO, and I'm 99.998% sure it will happen here without any doubt in my mind.

I have no idea how SE are going to handle it or if they have a special system in place for it. However, there is one thing any FF 11 player knows, when SE nerfs a class/job, they don't just nerf they literally break it into uselessness. If memory serve me right, other MMO devs nerf hard but they have nothing on SE.

Personally, I have always been against any kind of nerfs, this include the upcoming Bards nerf. I rather see 8 Jobs buffed than see one get nerfed to the ground (or even a slight nerf). PvP does not interest me personally as I get my fair share of PvP from Dota 2. My fears are nerfs might reflect on PvE, and suddenly a good wanted job in Coil is no longer wanted due to a nerf that happened for PvP. Veteran MMO players have also seen this before, DEV decide to nerf a class for PvP and end up turning it useless for PvE.

I really hope & wish I'm wrong.

And they have said repeatedly that classes will be balanced separately based on what is going on in pvp/pve. So if smns are too strong in pvp but weak in pve then PvP will get a nerf while pve will be buffed. Or vice versa. Yoshi-p stated that he always hated that one side had to suffer for the other and it divides a community.

Now he won't have to hear complaints about how pvp is ruining pve or how pve is ruining pvp. It's a system I wished more games had thought of.
