if there were that many players they would not have removed the player count on the servers.

ffxi has hundreds of thousands of players. ffxiv is down to tens of thousands.

I really loved FFXI, I played it for 7 years and the only reason I ever stopped was because Thatwhichshallnotbenamed destroyed any semblance of what FFXI used to be.

That being said, I never once expected XIV to be a HQ XI. I did expect them to take the good systems that worked well in XI and use that experience to make FFXIV a more enjoyable experience, but I don't want to play XI-2 when I'm in Eorzea. (Not Quon or Mindartia, Eorzea. Eorzea, unlike Vana'diel, is NOT the name of the world, it's the name of the continent.)

I guess you haven't read the "post world search" patch query project where players mined the player log info web site and estimated that people quit on a general average of 10% per month as of march. Cornelia is their benchmark server.

Did you really think people stopped counting even if SE banned the world population function?

probably due to it's adventuring zone being a goddamn boring maze. D: there's a reason we loved Saruta-baruta, it was wide and open and pretty.
