I didn't quit XI due to its graphics. Don't say 90% of the players were expecting XI-2 because that's a lie. If I wanted XI, I'd play XI.
Dude, what? Are you just pulling stuff out of your butt here?
A modern MMO has mechanics that are intuitive and easy to pick up, but hard to master. No frustrating systems (looking at you, Market Wards), fun content, multiple ways of leveling up (grinding blows), functioning social systems, and not be a bug-ridden skeleton of a game with an unresponsive dev team. Basically, the opposite of FFXIV while under Tanaka's team. When Tanaka was still in charge, the game sucked hard; there was almost nothing redeemable about it.
I was looking for an MMO that I could pick up and put down easily (as I was led to believe by their marketing campaign), and that was FUN.
Look at how polished RIFT is. Look at how responsive their developers are; they fixed dozens upon dozens of bugs (minor and major) as soon as they were reported. That's how you release an MMO. Yoshi-P has to clean up a mountain of garbage that Tanaka made.
