Any idea what time the update will take place? would it be like 12:00 am Dec 17 PST or like 10:00 pm PST?

December 17th is the Japanese date. NA it's usually the day before, so the 16th.

It's not really a day before since Japan is essentially half a day ahead of us.

If I had to take a guess though, I would say it will begin at about 5 AM EST and last until around noon at the latest.

Since when can bards or scholars use guns? At 05:16, the character shoots a huge beam out of a gun. Is this a skill or an NPC maybe?

All i gather from the 2.1 video is:
a) we all need Alligan Weapons ilvl90(2.0) > ilvl95(2.1)
b) all need complete ilvl90 armor in all slots
c) need JP button invincible
d) dev. hacks will be a requirement
f) we get more crappy twitch/death mechanics, rather then strategy based fights.
g) further division of players do to no skill curve... from care bare easy to hell mode in an eye's blink
h) no real movement forward, plenty of side inching tho....

Because that is not a pc but a corsair npc during a fight.
