You can type entire essays all day to say various things, but it boils down to a single point.

When you design content to do nothing more than delay players from actually playing the game, you have already lost.

With the current ideology that they use with lockouts and myth tomes, there is absolutely NO REASON at all to have the armory system.

The new content coming in 2.1 is a poorly designed joke, with everything from loot lockouts, poorly thought out drops from content and quest rewards that make the relics we have worked and PAID for worthless.

    Borderline stupid at every turn.

You disagree with me saying that all opinions and preferences regarding replaying content, be it doing endgame or leveling another class, are valid? Because that's what I was saying, as I wasn't comparing it with having new content. You want new and/or better content, I got it, but I think that you misunderstood and still misunderstand what I meant in my first post.

Anyway, I'll add something else. The reality is that as we currently lack the technology to produce a large quantity of content in a short period of time (because of time, money, and other constraints), at some point of time between content patches we eventually run out of new/fresh content, it's inevitable. Once that happens, we've always and will always have (at least until technology advances enough to let us change this) to replay some kind of content in our MMOs, be it by playing any kind of repetitive endgame (PvP too, even if by it's nature of not playing against an AI it can be a bit less repetitive), by replaying the 1-to-maxlevel old content, or by doing player-created content (roleplaying, for example). Some people choose to do the former, some others the later, and some others do all of them. They aren't doing anything new, but that old content let's them pass the time until new content comes, and it works for some. For those that it doesn't work but that are still interested in the game, they usually come back once said new content is released.

SE could release more and better content? Maybe. Faster? Perhaps, but it would have its ups and downs. But the fact remains that content can't be infinite nor change randomly to stay always fresh. It can be hard enough to last for a long time, yes, but even hard content will be completed eventually, not to mention that we already have that kind of content here (see Coil, Twitania, and EX Modes coming); but that's content that just a small minority can complete, as has been proven time after time, and it's not a good idea financially to have a lot of that kind (people get frustrated and leave, see Titan).

I have no interest in morality of opinions, only that mine is different from yours, and that I disagree with that difference enough to discuss it here. I still don't believe going about content another way means there's more of it. Now it may make it more meaningful for some people, but even then we lack the tools to diversify what we have already to achieve that. It's a pseudo feeling at best. You can choose to believe, and therefore do whatever you want though. You're paying after all. Also, you may be right about the lack of technology on SE's part, but other developers are churning out content patches much, much faster then this game is. Bug fixes/balance changes too. SE's 3 month plan is harming this game more then most people seem to realize. All it takes is a gander at a few other companies to see the difference.

For example? As I said releasing things faster has it's upds and downs too. Look at Anet, as GW2 is the prime example of fast content patches (every two weeks). How many new systems do they introduce in that span of time? It took them more than a year to release housing (and it's not released yet, as far as I know), for example, and it was promised to be there way before the game's release. And how much does that content last and how much grinding does it requires you to do to complete all the achievements, as that's the core of their content patches? A lot of people are still laughing at the joke that they did when they said that they would release "a couple of patches worth an expansion's content" some months ago. And their balance fixes? Tell that to the ranger community. The only thing that SE could learn from them would be to do proper seasonal events, instead of the bland ones that we've had.

How can a 'captain obvious' troll post be left to linger so long.... fish tales? Seriously?

People should calm down, and at the risk of being insulting, get a life.

Seriously. If you've gotten to a point where you feel like, "There's nothing to do, but I still need to keep playing" that implies an addictive personality.
If you're bored of a particular video game, go learn a language. Go play an instrument. Go on a date with that girl you like. Go to the gym or go do some community service. Christ, people.

Submit your ideas and concerns to the proper channel on the forums, and then leave Eorzea until you want to come back. Modern gamers confuse me.
This isn't a job. You won't lose money if you don't play (on the contrary, most would probably be a little better off financially). It's a tool to entertain you. If it's not doing its job, move on.

I don't know why i feel the need to post this here, but here goes...

I am not a fan of Final Fantasy, but my favorite mmo was FFXI. I did not understand the entire game, because I am not a fan of Final Fantasy. FFXI remained my favorite game for many years. This is the first time I get to start an mmo from launch, because I really didn't care for many other mmo's. I will continue to play this great mmo for many years, because it reminds me of the fun I had in FFXI.

Call me a fan boy or a white knight, I really don't care, because honestly, I am not a fan of single player Final Fantasy games, but I love THIS game. No amount of doom and gloom will cause me to unsubscribe. I will be here, when all is said and done.

    See you in a decade.

For only a fraction of the actual Playerbase. Do you believe SE will cater to that fraction rather than the rest of the Players? Sorry, but no.

Lately I feel I see a lot of people older than me complain and I can't make out why (and I am 25). People just need to be laid back about things. Critical suggestions would probably be most effective too.
