    Don't try to tell me that the guild is quitting for any reason other than "I'm not getting what I want, and what I want is more loot/content". Because that's what it is.

    You can try to be as eloquent as you want about it, but that's what your entire post boils down to.

    It doesn't change the fact that this is the first major content patch and your FC is already getting ready to bail. Amazingly, incredibly fickle and unreliable. Laughable even, considering the game hasn't even been out for three months, they're already releasing a content patch and that isn't enough for you.

    To put it another way, FCs/guilds/whatever like yours don't stick around anyway.

    See ya.

    Nothing of value will be lost.

    (Try to use more layman's terms next time. Your post is needlessly drawn out and could be summarized in two sentences. And this is from someone who regularly bypasses character limits.)

    It may not be a reason you like, but it is still a valid reason. But let's contest it a bit, shall we? What else should they be looking for? Friendship? If it is indeed a guild, then I would like assume some semblance of friendship is at play. One could also assume a certain degree of self-sacrifice in doing things you don't personally need for the sake of "team building" in the now. Yet, I can not and do not expect people to work for charity, and gear is how we're primarily paid in these games for our efforts. Lockout or not, the repetition and ennui is going to build and people will crave the next new thing.

    People wanting to shoot down the next new thing before it's even out isn't good. If you can't see that, there's no further convincing I can offer in eloquence or effusion.

    I've said it in another thread, but favoring one poor loot system over another poor loot system really isn't a win for us players. Choosing the lesser of two evils rarely is.

    For the sake of reference, 1.0 had you speed running dungeons and to get the most amount of chests you had to clear the whole thing in under...I think it was 18 minutes, most of which you spent exploiting mob leashes and standing in glowy beacons. Because content could be spammed, drops were made super random to the point you could get several inventory slots worth of dark matter before ever seeing a piece of gear.

    Compare that to weekly lockouts, which are there to control the amount of gear that enters the game as well as how rare said gear is (which some people were clammoring for in 1.0 and ARR beta). I can't speak for others, but the latter always meant that someone in the raid was getting an upgrade, as opposed to going the way of the literal Skinner Box where maybe you get something, but most of the time you get nothing. That alone puts it miles ahead of the former.

It was added the next patch when the level cap hit 60. For upwards of six months all you could do was grind City Dynamis for a miniscule chance of getting your gear drop which would likely get ninja lotted by your dickhead LS leader. Sky and the ground Gods didn't exist until the patch that concluded the Zilart storyline. There were of course BCNMs scattered in there if you cared to grind seals. From there all you had was HNM spawns, the same Dyna grind with new and more aggravating zones and Sky until close to the end of the Chains of Promathia patches when Limbus and Sea were introduced. Take off the nostalgia glasses.
    I like you.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
    * Design ideas:
    Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)

This is a game, and more importantly it's a business. Square-Enix is not my liege lord, defending my lands in exchange for my taxes and loyalty. They're offering a service. If that service isn't producing anything for me, I stop giving them money. Loyalty is admirable, but paying for and playing a game you're not enjoying isn't.

    You think getting 2.1 after three months is bad? Try doing Dragon Soul
    You will not mention that abomination of a raid in my presence.
