Microsoft, Imo, is the only company I would be ok with in acquiring Square. They would do something to bring the game to the Xbox One. They might even separate the PS4, Xbox One, and PC Player bases. And they would fix a lot of things, very quickly.

if they bought square it's very likely they'd cancel the ps4 version and kill the ps3 and pc version just to force everyone onto xbone

I don't see any of them being beneficial to FFXIV:ARR on the short term. Most of them will only develop FFXIV:ARR if it makes a huge profit and will turn the game into a money grabbing thing at every corner.
