EA - Fantasy Madden/Fantasy Field 1942...
Sony - EverFantasy III: The Search for More Money
*hangs a sign around neck that reads 'Don't Raise Me'*
Just shoot me now...
Joking aside, I would probably look on something like this with a 'wait and see' approach, so I certainly would not be an early adopter/supporter of anything they release until well after it's released...

Ha, gotta love rumours. Read it on the internet?
Could be worse, could be Warner Bros., and they could take the game f2p and nerf all content and stop producing endgame instances and sell everything in the cash store, including exclusive buffs, gil and lvl50 characters. But look at the upside: at least no more RMT.

The generation of random numbers is too important to be left to chance.
I don't know anything about any console war. I heard some rumours some fail company made something called the "x-bone" and sold a couple in their home country, and according to the rumours they aren't very popular anywhere else, and the company is heading straight for bankruptcy anyway.

bet it's gonna be who ever made that crappy DBZ movie, that buys square. lol

Microsoft, Imo, is the only company I would be ok with in acquiring Square. They would do something to bring the game to the Xbox One. They might even separate the PS4, Xbox One, and PC Player bases. And they would fix a lot of things, very quickly.
Then take away the Start button from the main menu.

since when did fix mean burn to the ground?
This is all I could picture when I read that EA or Activsion was buying SE.
Thank god it was just a troll.
If there is any truth to this, then it is pretty much a worst case scenario for FF XIV. While these companies allow quite a bit of creative freedom for their devs, micro transactions are all but guaranteed.
