I get into a random duty finder Garuda cause I'm bored. The PLD has nearly 1500 less HP then me WITHOUT defiance up. Without discussion the PLD runs in to MT. Naturally he's squishy and has pathetic threat gen and on top of all that he makes no effort to dodge slipstream at all. Similar situation have arisen a lot lately where PLD tanks take for granted that they are simpy better because they're a PLD, lol.

Funny enough, I ran into almost the exact same scenario as you here. When Garuda pushed him into the dirt during the twins phase, I proceeded to take over while hanging on to the red add. He got the hint when he couldn't pull her off of me after ressing mid combat. I wasn't trying to hold her either, just meant to gain control back so she didn't eat the group.

I play both PLD and WAR. There is a definite tension some times between the classes - had a WAR go in a huff because the party wanted me to MT Garuda when I'm a myth / DL relic +1 PLD and he had hoplite gear / AF1 with Ifrit Axe.

I've also had PLD's assume they're MT because they're PLD's even though my WAR has better gear.

But to be honest when I'm doing 8 man content with my WAR I'll always opt to OT in a case where there is a PLD with similar gear only because I can max my DPS without stealing hate and by keeping Storms Eye up I will boost the PLD's DPS and aggro retention.

People that are more aware would choose War as long as the player is good. Outside of SR at least.

Actually WP SR with WAR is alot faster than with PLD if you know what your doing. I've done it with both my WAR and PLD and since I've did it with WAR I never want to do it with my PLD anymore. The faster SR i've done with my PLD is about 17mins. I do 12min SR on a regular with my WAR.

I haven't tried WP with my warrior enough to debate which is better. That being said 17 minutes with a PLD is barely even a speed run and I can't imagine that you being a WAR somehow allowed 5 minutes to be taken off.

It's funny that people still use Duty Finder other than for complete jokes (DF Titan anyone?)

I run DF a lot actually. But I also usually only run it with Japanese DF Parties because well living in Japan and all that is the time zone I play in. I have DF killed Titan a lot recently. The first months where everyone was gearing up was rough but honestly not I see people in Allagan(sp) gear and several +1 relics and stuff in the DF parties now.

Everyone wants me to MT when I queue for warrior's. Unless its a pally who is much more decked out than me, or equally decked out. Or require stunning lol.

Even if I saw a 6k defianced WAR, I'll ask him to decide who's MT.. Even if he say he'll never stun Ifrit HM and let me MT & stun at the same time while he's doing full aggro combo, I'll do that
If he wants to be MT, I'll let him MT until all 7/8 ppl ask me to switch to MT after several wipes , if it's happened

Alot of things play into factor.

1. PLD doesnt have AoE DPS outside of CoS every 20sec.
2. I Find that On My WAR, BLM's are able to use Flare x3+ if they want without causing issues with Threat.
3. Warrior Has Multiple AoE Damage Attacks. Overpower, Steel Cyclone, Vengeance.
4. Warriors can Boost DPS with combos In Defiance, PLD has to swith oaths to do more DPS (outside of Flight of Fight) Which will prolly get him killed.
5. Along with Overpower I can Do Steel Cyclone 3x a fight every other fight. My Steel Cyclone hits 400-700 on each target.

WAR is THEE hate mongering mofo, so too speak. PLD is the B.S.H. of the 2, they take hits like champs (as so they should) but hate management, that's the issue, in mass group pulls. Meaning more then 3ish (pending on PLD). WAR is best for multi-mob pulls, with Overpower AND the ability to use flash. PLD cant do this, but, has the CD's for DEF+. They both have there roles, and unfortunately WAR is the "bastard child" of tanking in BC (Behemoth's Coil, for the peeps that don't know the acronym). ALTHOUGH, apparently they seem to think they have it figures out. We shall see (crosses finger's and prays). By the by, i am a main WAR tank, but also leveling PLD up to 50 as well.
