Anyone else notice the mentality of some , certainly not all, PLD's towards WAR's? Perfect example of what I'm talking about: I get into a random duty finder Garuda cause I'm bored. The PLD has nearly 1500 less HP then me WITHOUT defiance up. Without discussion the PLD runs in to MT. Naturally he's squishy and has pathetic threat gen and on top of all that he makes no effort to dodge slipstream at all. Similar situation have arisen a lot lately where PLD tanks take for granted that they are simpy better because they're a PLD, lol.

Making the transition to warrior has been an interesting one. As a paladin I never encountered the "superior" attitude I'm running across from time to time now, lol.

Just a funny observation as someone newish to the "other" side of tanking.

I'm honestly not sure what you're trying to communicate. I don't see how this has anything to do with the topic unless its directed at me for leveling warrior?

Ya.. sad state of affairs when a Stigma has gone that far. I have seen what you experienced but I was lucky to go through with intelligent people when I did most my things (like relic quest) on Warrior. I did however give people the option of the PLD tank who was usually less geared (I had some Allagan), but they always chose me. If the PLD's health was about 5500, I'd just let them tank things anyways as they'd mitigate more anyways.

I kind of scratched my head at a Hydra I helped an FC member with recently.. I was told they needed a tank so I came (I solo tank it normally) and there was a Warrior in it with 7500 hp. They still had me tank it for some reason (when I have other relic DDs) and was like w/e Lol. Felt bad for the Warrior, I know I've solo tanked it with closer to 7k HP on my Warrior without issue.

Its been an interesting experience for sure. I got Bravura about 2 hours after hitting 50 on my WAR, am wearing all DL/af+1/Allagan and still get sidelined so to speak by random DF primal groups for terribly geared PLD's. I don't mind at all, it just makes me chuckle.

I'm more than happy to use either class when helping someone out with their relic, etc. Its just funny watching people treat me differently who don't know me, hehe.

It's funny because of the stigma that War is bad. People assume it's for everything even though it's just for coil. People that are more aware would choose War as long as the player is good. Outside of SR at least.

Gotcha! Pardon the confusion. Agreed as well, LOTS of terrible players getting away with it due to paladin CD power.

I need to come up with a clever macro for holmgang in 2.1... My, "Jesus take the wheel" hallowed macro will be retired

I don't care who tanks for me. I run a lot of DF. There is a group of levels 38-45 were all the Warrior tanks I came across had issue keeping up hate. So that still sticks with me when I see a war tanking WP or AK. But i have seen great War and bad PLD in the the level 50 DF. I'm seeing more bad PLDs now then War right now. I'm working on my leveling up a War because I think the gear is awesome looking.
