I've an idea in my signature for Gladiator > Dark Knight (DPS) if anyone cares to give it a read. Includes unique abilities and stance system, class ability alterations as well as lore for how they came to be in the game.
My reasoning for GLA:
Light and Dark contrast
Paladin in Japanese is Knight so our Dark Knight is essentially them saying Dark Paladin
Would like to see each class having a job that focuses on either a 2h weapon or a 1h weapon and would prefer DRK get a 2-handed sword
"Sword specialist" in Japanese translation, also mentions adding a shield to tank (so could take off the shield to not tank)
SE says already that they can and will alter existing skills for when certain jobs are equipped
Dark Knight coming out of a more appropriate class thematically (people usually think of swords with knight)
My reasoning for not MRD:
Bloodbath is the only HP conversion ability
Bloodbath works like FFXI's DNC Samba (doesn't drain the health but converts a portion of your damage to health)
Marauders are pirates, a DRK pirate doesn't feel right
They use Axes
Would like to see them get Viking as a DPS job (maybe 1handed axes)
