The main function of a linkshell is to serve as a chat channel between friends, adventuring partners, or other like-minded adventurers. With that in mind, we have no plans to expand the functionality of linkshells by adding a message board/login message option.

Not knowing who logs/in off in a LS/Friendlist annoys me to no end. >.<

Good but ... the FC has a limit of 512 members and a LS has 128. The chat channel is the restrictive one ...

And that's kind of lame since my social LS - IE the ones who job it is to be social and have fun - is hovering around 120 members and we're periodically having to purge people.

Well, we want it, so please put time into adding it.

Spent over a week recruiting people for an endgame FC, got very few people willing to leave their FC for a new one just to do endgame content. After my first day recruiting for a "Linkshell" looking to do EG content, anyone with interest said so right away.

But I have to send people either a website, or my own Search Comment has to be dedicated to being the linkshell message.

If you gave linkshells the option to leave a message for their users that they can check, should they want to (not have 8 linkshells + an FC worth of messages when you log in,) you would help a lot of issues new groups are having starting on already established servers.

    tl;dr:

/lsmes is still wanted and needed by a large number of your players, and would make it much easier for players to do the content they want to do without being in total confusion, or making us players do lame things like use our /seacoms as a linkshell message. (And making the name of the LS "chk leader /seacom")

    Thanks.

The main function of a Linkshell in FFXI was to act as whatever it needed to be used for. It could be social, it could be endgame, it could be for people leveling, it could be for people who like My Little Pony, whatever. You could also have as many of them as you wanted. Many people had multiple LSes for the different events in game, 1 for sky, 1 for sea, etc. and many were all in effect "guilds" with points, officers and attendance rules. You said, let's make a real "guild" in XIV and call it a FC, but we'll let them keep the versatility of XI's LS system. But you forgot something key, the LS system served as a "multiple guild system," but you can not have "multiple guilds" in XIV.

You designed the game in a bunch of 8-24 man instances, but left the smaller, and more approachable Linkshell featureless. Please take note!
