Sending Mail to Alts

Complete a DF instance on character A. Log out.

Log in to character B add character A to friend list (this will require being in the same linkshell or something though, otherwise you can't search them).

Presto, main+alt are friends. It's silly that you have to use roundabout measures but oh well.

The fact that we can't mail to alts is simply inexcusable.

I can see how this would work as we've all experienced it taking a long time for your character to actually log out when you are disconnected. But is this OK to do? Would people get flagged as RMT for it, would it be against the ToS, etc.? Perhaps someone from SE can weigh in?

Every single other MMO I've played, allows you to send mail between your own alts, guildmates, as well as friends list. This one? No and it's absolutely the most annoying thing ever to pick up an item one character needs on another character and not be able to send it to him/her.

The excuse that its to prevent RMT is not valid because we're talking about alt characters on our OWN accounts. If I'm logged into the game then no RMTer is going to be logged on at the same time on my account...hello?
