Sending Mail to Alts

At the moment this is imposable. Are you guys looking into fixing this or am I going to wait for a friend to get on before I can send mail every time?

I understand why you can't just type out any name, but can I at least add people to my friends list that are offline, like my alts?

Yes, please fix this. It can be very annoying. I can understand needing some association with the other character (in order to avoid the mail system being used for spam), but people on your friends list, alts on the same account, and people in your FC are all associates. They should all be valid as recipients to send mail to. There doesn't seem to be any valid reason for limiting it to the friends list alone.

SE canned reply: It is a step we took to stop RMT and it is working as intended.

Everyone else: ummm...It's not working... plus RMT are using FC banks to transfer items not mail.

The work around I've made it that I just rank up my alts in the FC to get them the items I need through the FC bank. But I'm the 2nd in charge in my FC and so I can do this, other players can not.

Complete a DF instance on character A. Log out.

Log in to character B add character A to friend list (this will require being in the same linkshell or something though, otherwise you can't search them).

Presto, main+alt are friends. It's silly that you have to use roundabout measures but oh well.

I can see how this would work as we've all experienced it taking a long time for your character to actually log out when you are disconnected. But is this OK to do? Would people get flagged as RMT for it, would it be against the ToS, etc.? Perhaps someone from SE can weigh in?

Every single other MMO I've played, allows you to send mail between your own alts, guildmates, as well as friends list. This one? No and it's absolutely the most annoying thing ever to pick up an item one character needs on another character and not be able to send it to him/her.

The excuse that its to prevent RMT is not valid because we're talking about alt characters on our OWN accounts. If I'm logged into the game then no RMTer is going to be logged on at the same time on my account...hello?
