Gee no kidding.
That's why I warned against doing that very thing way back in the beginning of this thread.
And that's also why I recommended the following:Yeah, this would be a better idea. Right now, the medals are redundant. We already can see post count via the actual "post count" counter. It also gives the false impression that more posts = better poster, when we all know that that is not necessarily the case.
Many of the best comments that I've read so far have been by members with low post counts.
One thing, though - if we were to change it so that medals are an indicator of how many "likes" on has gotten, this could still be abused. For example, in one of my threads, I had a makeshift "poll" which was gauged by how many likes each option got. This would artificially inflate my like count. Sheesh...
Yeah I know what you said, it bares repeating. Anyway I wasn't trying to be rude. Sorry if you're upset.
Oh, OK. For a second it sounded like you were insinuating that this was the change that I wanted just so that I could have more medals or something. I'm sorry too for overreacting.
IMO, superficial stuff like post count, rating, karma, and signatures are totally irrelevant to fostering good forum discussion.
I guess the "like" system is good for this forum, however, since it IS all about user feedback and gauging the will of the users, after all.
Other than that, the only thing you really need is a proper avatar system, so that users can establish a unique identity.
Bwahahaha
This is seriously humorous.
That doesn't say they don't give them for posts count anymore. So its probably a mix of both now.Medallion icon will now be granted depending on the number of "Like!" player has received.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
Wow, they just find another way to keep you pay !
Hmm...if there are no medals above a person's name, does that mean they are banned?
I don't see any medals above gifthorse's name. Or Kilta's. Or Kurokikaze.
Hmm... O.o
Aww...and here I was thinking that Kilta didn't have any medals because nobody ever liked her posts.
Are these medals going to become anything interesting?
