I would like to add that if you really care about those characters you shouldn't be okay with them being brought here as pure fanservice, as it would reduce their value as characters, that of their story, and that of all the work that the devs did originally with their games. I do care about them, as I grew up playing those games, and that's why I don't want them to be here in ARR just because it's cool to put them in.

Isn't it better for everyone if we just go play their amazing original games again instead of having a pathetic watered-down version of them here? What good would do having them here in that state? So that everyone can complain later about how bad/lazy/whatever their comeback was? Because let's be fair, everyone would have very high expectations from a cross-over like that one and they would be really hard to meet.

    I'm sure it will make perfect sense, if we buy "Final Fantasy XIII-3: Lightning Returns"... Just like Cloud and Sephiroth can duke it out on Eorzea and then their appearance will be fully-explained in "Final Fantasy VII: The Search for More Money" that would assuredly follow the event. >.>;

    So, no Sephiroth
Except they had no problem reviving Sephiroth for a fan service final-battle scene in Advent Children. If there's one thing to be learned from games, movies or series; Character deaths are never permanent if their revival would benefit the plot or pocket-book.

I do not think for a moment that Square somehow has more integrity or ability to not fall prey to adding in fan service characters, regardless of how their story ended if they think they come up with a half-arsed reason for it after talking about it in the break area.

People want them in the game for the same reason thousands of people write horrible fan-fiction about the characters from these games; A lot of people are in love with the -idea- of the character, rather than caring that the character is portrayed true to their original intent.

I find it funny how people think that including Cloud and/or Sephiroth would ruin Final Fantasy XIV.

You people and your silly crossover ideas.
Clearly what this game needs is a Cid crossover, bringing all the different incarnations of the character together. I'm kidding of course.

They can just place them all over the world and have the players run errands for them. Say all of the out-world Cids lost something when coming to Eorzea but found an item belonging to one of the other Cids instead and it's up to the players to take that item, locate it's owner [removal of questmarkers encouraged], and exchange it for a different item until at the end everyone has their stuff back and you get some sort of vanity item out of it.

Once again, I'm kidding. Just trying to bring the whole crossover craze to it's ludicrous conclusion.

Your right, I'm sorry, FF8 was actualy my first game, but when I saw the ads for 7, heard about it,
I stopped everything I was doing and beat 7 first. It was my first FF, and still my favorite to this day.

Your absolutely right though man. Another personal Favorite of mine was 6.
I'd love to see something from that other than Magitek.

frostmagemari, you seem to think Sqaure Enix is just greedy.
You do realize things cost money right?

If you had been following this thread (Or the FF7 storyline even)
You'd understand Sephiroth can regenerate himself.
Not only were his genes spliced with some weird demonic looking alien,
he was a freak of nature science project.

Everytime Sephiroth dies, he enters the lifestream. Because of his biology,
certain conditions can allow him to come back to life.
Sephiroth actually died more than once in Final Fantasy 7.

    As i said earlier...
they come up with a half-arsed reason for it after talking about it in the break area
Which then unfortunately leads to them attempting to milk one of their games even further, with half-arsed and otherwise forgettable story lines and cliche characters.
