    All NA's keep regurgitating "vanilla FFXI's release" nonsense when most didn't even play then. The game launched here(in NA) with RoTZ. Even XI's vanilla release had more open world content than XIV.

    I think the OPs question is valid. For those happy with dungeon farming for gear then great for you, but this thread could be a good source of feedback for those of us who wanted more. I'd assume Yoshi intends to add more open world content as they eventually intend on releasing roaming primals that can be summoned once defeated, but you know what they say about assumptions..

    1.0 was a dungeon grind too, infact everything hardcore was a grind, look at hamlet, look at the drop rate of Darklight back then, its something like 1-2% and you had to had a very dedicated static to even be able to get those.

    I don't like how everything is about dungeons either... I like dungeons, but I want more than that.

    Also the 2.1 patch should have increased the length of the endgame, but instead they just increased the amount of content within the same length. I haven't even done Coil yet, but that's just cause I've been saving the content for this patch, and was hoping there would be more to do later on. Instead I've made several alts and geared them up. So now it basically haven't changed a bit, I just will do CT first, which seems to be easy, then I will have an easier time beating Coil with the better gear. It's just a bridge that makes the Coil easier for you.

    If you're going to do a gear treadmill like they are doing, without much else to do, then at least give us more content, and don't waste content on dungeons that brings nothing new.

    They have done a great job with how you level up alt classes, but you shouldn't really have to make this many alts for there to be content -_-

    this game wouldn't be so bad if it had actual open world content.
    i think the odin / behemoth fates are a good start in the right direction, but the current loading issue + the ridiculous spawn times make it impossible to keep track of them.
    1.0 had open world dungeons, i suggest adding those again and add monsters to them that are stronger but yield bigger exp to encourage group grinding, same can be done for beastmen strongholds, those had bosses at the end of them that dropped equipment in 1.0.

    they just need to make the world more interesting besides fate.once i'm done fating i'm not visiting a place anymore, well, why should i.
    but if old and new content leads me to different places, low & high, this atleast would fill some of the places again.

    there are so many things they could put into the game, i do understand the race for newer and better gear at every update, but we should also consider having more lasting content.

    How i see it is that in 2.1 enough side-grades are coming. The only gear upgrade is with the already existing Coil gear. Every other new gear are for side grade variety. Instead "you need gear x for content y" like now it would be "you need gear v, w or x for content y"

    open world content can be more trouble than solution, if it too good, the dungeon will be empty and the best open world content will be farmed by legion of player, a bit like the fate actually. it is fun? no, it will lead to grief and many many trouble. like the speed of pop, the number of monster, the drop rate,...

    instead to ask feature that will bring nothing new, try to ask for new stuff, we do get treasure hunting in the 2.1 and i think it's a good idea, we need more activity different than pve/pvp grinding.

    I don't know how to say, but the longer i stay ingame this makes me ask "why my favourite MMO have direction like this?"

    Back then in 1.20+ i've many things to do and enjoying it but in ARR nothing to do after a month and also confuse why they design game with 'fast-get-achievement' system. ex : can get 3 or more relic in a day.
    No good challenging content except coil. After cleared the run, it become locked dungeons for that week (can't even helping others, doesn't really matter if i can't loot it). Now 80% i log into the game solely because of friends and only helping their relic or WP run everyday.

    IMO, if SE want to keep lot of players subs for next year i think they need tons (not few but tons) of content or 1st expansion and that's not something like another restriction mythology poin/ coil dungeon once a week. This doesnt help at all for players to subs... even PvP only 4vs4 (filler?) with sliding battle animation and facing weird direction /sigh

    I am actually extremly sad about the Lack of Open world contend but I play and I only complain because I have the right to complain But hey just 3 month now le't them take another 3 month and let's see what happens
