I agree Reisz, but as a past gaming rep, that's how we used to deal with these issues. Unless it's the first time, ignore the user that is trying to get something and ignore the issue completely (very politely of course). It's actually company policy.
That they would ban the person submitting the request is absolutely plausible to me: especially if the rep in question was having a bad day. I understand the Reddit poster could be lying, but it just kinda rubs me the wrong way after reading all those posts.
Edit: Your comment below... I'm gonna have to disagree with. If it's a problem with the system (as it seems to me at this point), you're not gonna get help by going through the system.

The channel to get help is via Customer Support, posting in the General Discussion forums cannot possibly get you any help, if having exhausted your options to get help via Customer Support, perhaps the best course of action is to wait for a dev update like what the dev response said

This has been brought through the proper channels by many people, for months now. Nothing has been resolved. Public awareness is the next route.

Generating public awareness in the General Discussion forums will also undoubtedly generate opinions from players who questions the bug and how it manifests itself, this is to be expected.
Truth remains that how the bug manifests are unknown, and under such circumstances, it isn't unreasonable for players to ask for more evidence especially in the form of a video to examine and to exclude user error (e.g double clicking)
Something tells me that there is a way to prevent this from happening. It always asks for confirmation if thats what you want to buy. I bet you push the Mist, and the window Pops up, "are you sure you want to buy Valor Boots" and you all just mash through it so quick that you dont even know thats what the message said, therefore buying boots instead of what item you want. I feel like this is more of a player error than a game error, because its not possible to activate another item on another page, and if it happens, the game HAS to be telling you what you are buying, i cant see it asking if you are sure you want to buy Mist, and it throwing Boots in your inventory, that kind of bug would be detrimental.
Makes no sense. Mist and boots aren't in the same tab. Mist is all alone in it's own separate tab. Even if it said "Are you sure you want to buy Valor Boots" when you clearly pushed Mist, something is wrong with the system still. It's a bug. Believe us or not but when you try to figure out what happened think about what you wrote before calling us liars. You buying one thing and the games asks if you want to buy something entirely different, is a game error.
I had already said I didn't care if any of you all believed me or not. I also admitted that you all are entitled to your opinion. I want the bug known, looked at, and fixed. Anyone who've encountered this shouldn't have to use their one-time item restore for something that's not their fault. Support should just let them know the bug is known and their is nothing that can be done until it's fixed. Something like that. Using one-time restore for something like this is silly.
There are still people who doubt the netcode issue even though it's been acknowledged by Yoshi.
There are still people who doubt the moon landing even though there is mountains of proof.
Moral of the story, people don't believe things they don't want to believe.
