I'd rather have a battle system that requires full-on tactics than a button masher. Not saying TERA is a button masher, but it seems like it doesn't require the type of strategy i'd like my games to have.

I'm actually looking forward to an action RPG, Phantasy Star Online 2, even if its not as fast as Tera. Its just another series i can relate to. I don't really find these new IPs appealing at all. Especially if its an MMORPG. I like seeing single-player games becoming MMORPGs. Given that they have the proper genre to even become MMORPG :P

I to enjoy the MMO's that have an established lore to back up their infrastructure. Fallout Online should be promising.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

Actually it has to deal bad experiences from the past with floor loot games. Even if the same things can't happen, the memories always coming back when I see something drop to the floor pisses me off.

Namely people intentionally standing ontop of my loot drops in other games so I can't select the item and then them getting to pick it up once the grace period for me wore off.

I guess I can see how that would be annoying... (But in TERA you just move close to the item and press the key you assigned to pick up loot, and it grabs it, no clicking required) ^_^ Kind of like people standing on top of mailboxes etc! I never ran across anyone like that while I was playing, but I am sure there are people like that out there.

As far as a story goes, that is one of the main reasons I am playing FFXIV! I feel slightly starved after the R46 mission though, I hope they can make it as amazing as CoP was for me.

TERA has a lot of strategy it has 0 "luck" systems, in XI and XIV you're only good if you have the gear for it, if you have x evasion or x str, in tera its all about you as a player and how good you are, requires more skill, theres no % of evasion, theres no % of accuracy, no % of anything.

Each class has its own different styles, There are 2 tanks, one can dish out a lot to keep hate but cannot be hit for a lot, Warrior, it has to evade so you do a lot of moving and jumping and diving and so on but lancer can take it like a man but isn't so fun. But the blocking is all down to how you time it.

Archer works like an FPS and heal classes to, healers have to aim or get in range but can take serious damage if not careful and mob's dont exactly stand in 1 spot all the time.

TERA Battle system is insane, but it is for another game and as I said earlier I dont think it would suit XIV nor do I really want it in XIV.

TERA doesnt have button mashing either, holding down left or right click continues to do w/e you have assigned, for example if your have single attack on left click, holding it down replicates Auto Attack and you can still move and aim freely. There is no lock on and nothing stops you when doing things unlike XIV where every friggen action stops you.

Oh definitely TERA's battle system is more up-to-date than FFXIVs. A pity their art style is so horrible.
It's all a matter of preference, though; and I liked the FFXI system (which was even slower paced) just as much.

I feel that the batle system is slow as well. I click... wait... click... wait.. cycle on. I feel speeding up this waiting process will increase the enjoyment of battle. I want to have my reflexes and quick judgement to be of use during battle.. I personally feel that this would vastly improve the battle system.
