Battle is very slow

If it's too fast you can't really pay attention to what everyone's doing too. Also, it sux to see a million things going on at once if it's too fast or has too many animations.

Call me what you want but if u want a example of strategy in a mmo battle XI was it, the system was so deep in strategy I really enjoyed it but if the want it to be a action style mmo try to get it more like tera. i think they need to pick because what we have is a awkward mix of both and it just doesnt work... pick one SE

I play TERA, too! ^_^ Or played, rather, didn't want to get burned out on K-Retail. I really, really love the combat system in TERA. I play(ed) a healer in it, and for once in an MMO, healing didn't put me to sleep! I couldn't ever see myself getting bored with the combat! It is so fun having to aim my heals, drop mana orbs, stay within range of my group members so that they get my Mystic buffs, and make sure that I don't literally get squashed by a boss.

That aside, as much as I love the combat system in TERA, I don't think it would ever be possible to see that type of a combat system in FFXIV. All we can do is hope that it isn't as slow as FFXI was (outside of Abyssea). I really hope that it is decently fast paced, and that they revamp battle regimens to be as fun as I thought skillchains and magic bursts were. It was very wishful thinking, but on the 2nd players poll, in the text box, I requested a carbon copy of TERA's battle system. It isn't for everyone, but I found it to be extremely fun.

That being said, and before I get told to go play TERA, I am still hopeful for FFXIV and never expected the combat system to be that in depth. I will still be happy with FFXIV as long as I get the same level of epic storytelling FFXI gave (especially with Chains of Promathia).

The combat in Tera doesn't look faster or more impressive, yeah I did read his post. Any game that has floor loot I avoid like the plague.

That looks fast paced to me... ;_; Especially the archer, you can bind your main attacks to your mouse buttons, and with archer, you click a few times and your archer's arrow goes *pew pew* with each mouse click It's actually really fast!

And regarding the floor loot, the party leader can set the loot rules so even if you pick up a low-high quality item off the ground, there will still be a roll for it.
