I was expecting more than what I got, tbh. I haven't played xiii, but I felt like I was playing half a story. with the other one not in existence. Of course she won't remember her tales in Eorzea. How am I to keep her memories of her visit if she was little more than a celebrity in the papers?

Boring characters doesn't always mean you can't make a good story, especially with a change in setting. I hear "Jumpman" is still going strong.

The whole point of the Lightning FATES were to try and gain hype for 13-3. They've sunk a lot of money into the 13 series and it's been a pretty big flop since the release of the first one.

True story. 13 sucks so hard, it blows my mind on why they are still making more of that series and trying to push it. The first one, I could set down the controller and win any fight, ever. That's not fun.

Uhm, no - XIII/XIII-2 were successful. Just because you have an extremely vocal group of people (especially western people) stating they hated it doesn't make it a flop, the series idea may have flopped, but the games? Not so much. A "flopped" game doesn't score high with Famitsu since even XIII-3 scored lower than XIII-2 (perfect score) and that's still a 37/40.

Not to mention Type 0 (originally XIII Agito) was probably one of the best FF games, especially modern times, yeah..XIII is far from a flop, but I'm pretty sure people will say "score means nothing", which is cool, people use score to justify other game's success every time

Score does mean nothing. Cause it's just someone being paid to be give it a nice score.

People should compare the previous Final Fantasy games to 13.

I consider a game bad if two things are bad with it, which 13 had both of. Bad story and battle system.

AI is stupid, casting spells it shouldn't. "This boss is very susceptible to de-protect" Npc spams useless abilities completely ignoring what it's susceptible to. One fight in the game you can't even beat without playing as a character cause they are to stupid to cast death over and over. The ochu in chapter 12. The fight is completely fought for you, you spam X that's it.

The story, pretty sad that you have to read from save points. Vanille's annoying voice didn't help either with her dialogue. Only Claire's, Sahz', and Snow's story was interesting enough to pay attention to. Vanille and Fang had little to nothing add. If that ending didn't involve them they be useless. Hope, whoever made his should feel ashamed of themselves, unless they made him to piss people off, then great job you nailed it.

All the people do who say it was successful makes me wonder if you ever played a Final Fantasy games before 13. Cause it's definitely not one of them. That's like saying DBZ evolution was good because people actually paid to see how terrible it was actually going to be.

I agree, the Lightning event needed us to run down a linear hallway for 30-40 hours before we realized there was no story.
