The problem with this event is that this cameo would work if your character is a living legend in video games in general (MMORPG covers more than just FF fans). The only characters that'd fit this description would be Cloud Strife and Sephiroth under the FF umbrella. And either of them could've worked fine as these are character who needs no introduction and have no need to justify why they're awesome. Of course, Lightning isn't Cloud Strife or Sephiroth. It's pretty hilarious like all the NPCs tell you that you're supposed to think of Lightning as a living legend, which is precisely what's wrong with the event. Cloud Strife would not need 3 NPC fanboys to tell you that he's too awesome for Eozrea. He just is. I'm not sure what would've worked with a relatively lightweight like Lightning, but acting like you're a gaming legend when you're not is definitely not how to do it.

The whole point of the Lightning FATES were to try and gain hype for 13-3. They've sunk a lot of money into the 13 series and it's been a pretty big flop since the release of the first one.

I have no clue why people bash on XIII so badly. It's not as bad as people make it out to be...13-2 was a lot better in some area's.
My only beef is this trilogy [Which was obviously all planned ahead. XIII had mixed reviews.] and keep making more games
and make Light into some moron Etro loving Valkyrie...Anyways.
13 was fine the way it ended, nope, try to cater to all so they make another and make my fave character die. -_-;
So pissed at 13-2 ending lol. But yeah. Story wise, 13-2 was just random.
Then again, I'm not older like the rest of folk, and I like newer games as opposed to olders. Maybe people don't like change.
I'm glad they are shifting from turn-based. [FF15] No offense, it's getting boring. Buuuh I digress lol.

A bit much don't you think? I think everyone knows it wasn't a much than a promotional stunt. If you take it for no more than what it is, it was still kinda cool to have a crossover even if it is really shallow. So lighten up, no need to be so emo over a limited time event, yada yada relax yada.
