By that I mean, they promised that the characters would come into this world and left it in a way that made sense.
What happens between coming and leaving is irrelevant. It's usually insignificant so that it doesn't affect the story.
The excuse they used for Lightning could be used for just about every single character in the Final Fantasy Universe, with a little tweaking. It wasn't creative or original, and it didn't have any purpose. If you are right, and there promise was simply that, then there wasn't a point. When it was first announced FF13 was making an appearance, players were concerned that it would either butcher the story, or be absolutely pointless. And sure enough, the absolutely pointless turned out to be the case. A cheap gimmick, and nothing more. I was hoping for something a lot deeper, and I feel it was a missed opportunity.Even the scholar weapon lacked creativity, simply a bunch of boomerangs put together? Could they not ask anyone from the design team of FF13 what a book might look like in their world? If they can't do it right, I just rather them do nothing at all. It cheapens the entire game.
the main story is a disgrace in itself, so why would a fate such a small event be any better...
>expecting great things from anything related to FF13
I'm lol'ing pretty hard.
I'm the Bloodgaru Queen.
The tie-in was just a commercial for another SE game. All they would have had to do to make people happy was make a second set of even gear at ilvl50+ and people would have been happier.
Strongly disagree. It was cool.
Remember when Cloud was playable in Final Fantasy Tactics?
I do agree the story could have used some work,
also some of the fates seem kind of lifelss.
But nah, it was nice to see Lightning Cross-over.
Even if it wasn't executed perfectly.
